I really like my mentor. She's new to the company but they created the role for her ,so she heads all the information/business systems. Basically all the data I'm using to build dashboards.
After speaking with her seems like my team is just unorganized and overwhelmed. It's only 4-5 main data sources and they have pimped them into hundreds of tables/views, so mad repeating data across applications. Then every time someone wants a new project, they just create a new subset of that data.
I don't like building these dashboards at all. It reminds me of when I was a realtor, dragging people from house to house, I hated it. People are fickle af and I don't want to be an audience to their decision making nor have their decisions have a direct impact on my workload. I want to align more with data strategy or even developing a consistent set of design rules and templates, so then it's a matter of pick a design, tell me what data you want, and plug it into the template. Having 70 dashboards that all look different, but using the same data is crazy as hell.
