As long as it is appealing to the mainstream, sure :yeshrug:... IG PR, selling tees, barbershop, etc

If you are talking about consulting or management or something that has a bunch of 6 certs ppl, I would guess that it comes across as amateurish because your clientele have probably been pursuing higher education for +6 years and know plenty of people smarter than them, so a company called "Mastermind ____" sounds like a red flag unless the company is full of industry leaders & paying top $$$. Outside of that, it just sounds like an excuse for some corporate hubris

Its an electrical company. Ima keep thinking on ideas thanks breh

Did the IT training/setup for 2 new hires yesterday. One was an intern and the other an Indian engineer.

Early in the meeting, the engineer turns off his camera stops talking. I figure he’s fine and just going through things at a quicker pace. Wrong!

30 minutes later, I’m wrapping up and asking if anyone has any questions and he’s like, “I can’t login to the benefits system.” I eventually check the admin console. He hadn’t activated his email account. And since they all need email… he hadn’t activated any of his accounts.

The intern was good, so he leaves the meeting and then I have to run through everything again for the other dude. And this man probably makes a significant amount more than I do.

Work wise: Interview tomorrow with a former manager of mine to join his team. Im bored as fukk in my current situation after being here about 18 months. This would be a bit more client facing but I would be getting some good PM experience which ive been looking to do.
Took long enough but i received an offer today :blessed:

Fully remote, over 24% increase from my last position (and over $3k over the listed salary range) :stylin:

I don't want to put my current job on my resume, but I've been here too long to leave it off.

I got a referral from a friend for a sys admin role. Fingers crossed.

Finally completed my move. Next 2 weeks will be me adjusting to increased COL, while getting into the groove of this new work arrangement and settling in.

This move and my summer spending put a dent in my finances big time. Savings took a massive hit and I used more credit than I would have liked. However, I’ll be getting a bonus in Nov and a salary increase so that will help mitigate my increased spending these past weeks.

It looks like my workplace will postpone RTO till Jan. First it was after Labour day, then mid-Oct but Jan 22 would be taking the piss. Idk if I sign a lease had I known RTO would be January...

Just an aside, but I can foresee the corporate office landscape getting a lot more competitive. With this “hotdesk” system going in place, I can see more employees fighting for facetime lest they be deemed out of sight, out of mind. I’m not fully sold on employer’s willingness to adopt full-time/major WFH. There’s always a catch.

My office doesn’t even allow me sit at my assigned desk when I come in. Gotta sit on specific floor in the building. Sucks because I can’t really de-camp there and leave materials over night. I feel more like a contractor than an FTE.

Lastly, this whole system of “checking in” / verifying your COVID status before entry is gonna be rolled out wide-scale pretty soon. The writing is on the wall even though I’m not a fan at all (too Big Brotherish for my liking). The pandemic has opened up the door for increased surveillance. People can call it a conspiracy but the infrastructure for the vaxx passport is steadily increasing...

You ever have the feeling that you do too good of a job? We're working on converting the application and our architect talmbout how to divide up the work and was going over shyt I knocked out 2 weeks ago. Not only that, I showed everyone that stuff was already done. I've been actively doing the work while every is still working on "scouting" :skip:.
