RTO got held up indefinitely...right after a breh just relocated :francis:

And when I asked my manager how firm our October RTO date was he said:

“start looking for spots soon because rents are rising”. This was back in Aug mind you.

Could have chilled home and stacked through the end of the year instead :stopitslime:

No date as of now. Work said they’ll give us a 4 weeks notice before we gotta return but since it’s not gonna be in Oct then it’ll likely be mid Jan’22 since Nov and Dec is holiday season.

I legit thought about just cancelling my lease and paying the 1.5x rent termination fee...

Corporate America has a way of reminding you that at the end of the day, unless your name is on the door, you can be easily replaced.

I just relocated and completed my 1-yr anniversary on the job earlier this week and just yesterday our manager announced one of our team members got let go. She had been there for about 2-years but just wasn’t getting it.

I’m a year in but I already know the company/industry is for me, but not this team. By 18 months I’ll be ready to pivot. I’m not gonna do it like my last job where I waited till 18 months to start having those exit conversations.

Side note: I’ve been in this role for a year and haven’t still met my team face to face :russ: I only briefly met my manager for dinner when I came to the area to look at Apts. Outside of that, my team are just talking floating heads on Microsoft teams.

Where do you want to go, lots of areas have 6 figure opportunities.
Do some research in the field learn the various paths and then youll be able to map out how you want to get there.

recruiters are supposed to tell you the comp range, and it's law for CA based companies. this recruiter is fukking around in not telling me the comp, instead, they gave me some stupid parameters they use on some site to make offers...aight bet, well you're wasting my time. the role seems interesting but i'm not wasting my time on something that might not be able to pay me what i'm looking for

Yoooo The company I joined a few months ago got bought out a year and half ago by another company. I’ve been dealing with them tightly since we’re going through a domain migration. These fukkers are incompetent as shyt. Plus, I get the feeling that the upper management in IT are these repressed nerds who finally got some power. I am gone. fukk that. They are also highly unprofessional. I sat here for two hours just applying nonstop. I will literally quit if I have to do another 2 weeks with these people. Power hungry nerds are some of the shyttiest humans on the planet. I am so close to leaving the entire industry alone as a whole :camby:

Edit: all these jobs got like 100+ applicants :damn:
Plus my salary range is super competitive and I won’t take any less than that.
One job that has 80 reached out to me earlier this week, but I don’t think it’s a good fit for either one of us. Think I’m just gonna try real estate. I’m young. time to take a risk

here’s what happened:

1. Went in and spoke with the system architect and explained my frustration, he gave me some advice, but ultimately I said I was done.

2. Called the president to put in my 2 week notice, but he didn’t answer

3. spoke with one of our training managers and we briefly went over some things, said she didn’t want me to go, but she understands since she herself deals with the incompetent nature of the parent company. She’s like the therapist of the office and came from running a HR dept. so she’s always good for these kind of things.

4.the systems architect and I went to lunch since he still wanted me to change my mind. Went over a great deal, and walked away saying that probably a 2 week break would be best and that I should present that to our manager instead of just flat out walking away.

5. the manager calls while we were leaving to speak about some website stuff. in the end I tell him that I’m leaving lunch, but have to speak to him again once i get back

6. he immediately calls the systems architect, like “what’s going on with @Love Sicharre:damn:

7. systems architect takes the call while i go back in the office and told him that he’ll need to find a way to take care of me since I have multiple company’s at my reach so their going to have to resolve whatever issue is happening b/w the IT director of the parent company and myself unless they want to lose me.

8. President of the company calls me back while the architect is still on with the manager, said he just saw my missed call and wanted to see what was going on. Told him its not a big deal and can wait until Monday.

9. I call my manager and explain to him what’s going on and that at this rate Im going to pursue the better opportunities at my disposal. I don’t have anything concrete, but I’m very much in demand. Something, which they know. We spoke for about 10min.

In that we talked about my role, my growth, where they see me. Basically the whole shabang, how appreciative he is for all the work I’ve been doing this month and told me to not make any irrational decisions or anything yet. Said he agreed with my dislike of how the parent company operates, but wants to find a medium and help define roles amongs us and how we’ll operate. He’s coming into the office next week to take myself and the systems architect out for a few hours to develop a better bond.

In the end, I’m still not sure if this is where I want to be. The parent company show a lack of respect, dignity, professionalism, and communication. The Director and Manager would be Level 2 at my old organization, so the fact that this guy tried his little, “I am the IT director you will do what your told” email shyt to is laughable when I would’ve been a better lead in this project as a fukking intern. Even tried to call him and his lackey so he can do that puff cheasting shyt live after that email, but they avoided it…
