Just registered for the Qlik Sense Data Architect exam for the end of the month. I have a bunch of resources to study, just need to organize them all. I have my own tenant, so I can build apps in there and the Udemy I purchased a while back details how to build a basic app, plus I have work experience.

This exam focuses heavy on data modeling so, I want to work on scripting...first correlating the steps in the wizard to the script generating in the background. I generally know what's happening, but couldn't write my own script to save my life. Because I've worked on the visualization side, I've always had to understand how the data was modeled, so I feel confident, but I will need to get those formal terms in my vocabulary and play around with some more complex apps.

 get that FAANG for us. I just told Microsoft I don't feel like interviewing.

Interviewing is exhausting. Especially when you prep, go through multiple rounds, and get that "We moved on to candidates with more experience."
5 hours of interviewing just to be told that I don't have any experience in this type of role. They knew that before I started the interview process though!

Didn't you take a training class on Qlik? How was it?

I took a formal class in Ohio through the company I was working for, a while back, it was for things like set analysis and section access.

For the cert I’m working through Udemy and I like it because you build a data model and app from scratch. I purchased a tenant, but they also free developer trials. The class I purchased, walks you through as well. I can drop the link of you want.

Overall the software works similar to the others (Power BI, Tableau, etc), but it’s still a niche skill.

I’m six weeks in at my new Project Manager job. I can already tell it’s gonna be ALOT of work :sadcam:

They’re a growing company that does 24x7 IT deployments, db mgmt, and overall project mgmt…definitely a much bigger scope than my old job.

shyt sounds like more work than in cybersecurity. I'm trying to get out of IT altogether. Tired of cleaning up other people's screwups all the time.

Thanks anyway.

I’m interested in data, visualization and data science overall, so it’s “fun” for me. If I didn’t NEED to get paid, I would definitely do it for free. Lol basically what I’ve been doing now. :heh:

I think there are a lot of avenues in IT, you just have to find what you’re interested in. Forcing yourself to learn or staying in an area just because it pays well, is miserable af.
