I don't understand how to get out of this hell of IT Support. I've been doing this for years, but I can still bomb interviews for level 1 positions.
I can talk about tech. So if the interview isn't "walk through this inane troubleshooting scenario " I'm fine.
I worked at a FANG company from March 2020 to March 2021 when my employer was bought out. IT team was giving 1 year contracts. For a few months I worked with a mentor to try to switch to tech writing (only so I could stay at the company). Made it through the 1 hour and 4 hour interview processes, only to be told that the hiring committee said I didn't have enough experience.
Rushed to get a job after the contract ended. Got another IT role at a fintech company. It sucks. I've been doing bullshyt all day. Prepping a couple of 2017 laptops for new hires. Why can't they buy new shyt?!
I don't know what my next move should be. I'm trying to eat healthier and get sleep. And I've been working on my bad habits to stay organized.
But careerwise I don't what to do. These places always say there's room for growth, but it never happens.
The last few posts inspired this rant. Don't mean to be whiny, but whatever.
