If you live in a market with a shortage of IT people it will be much easier to find a security job. Places close to huge military bases tend to have lots of openings due to the Feds hiring up all the security people.
Well someone my dad knows told him I should send in my resume, they do security and pen testing. I want to get certs that make me look ideal and would be useful to that sector since I only have hardware experience :snoop:

You won't really learn how to do anything from Security+ or CEH since both exams are multiple choice.

The first thing you should do before even looking at certs is figure out whether you want to be on the offensive or defensive side of Security. That's going to determine which certifications you take. Just know that there isn't much money nor praise on the defensive side. And since nobody wants to play defense it's much easier to get hired on that side of the house. But just know you gonna take a huge L eventually by getting breached. Depending on how bad it is and your level of culpability nobody might ever hire you again. So pick the offensive side trust me.

I think offensive might be it :jbhmm: Does it involve alot of programming? I took java, python and know a little java script but I'm no expert.

Anybody mess with gs aka Goldman Sachs bank? I see their apy is 1.20% and I currently have an account with ally at 1.05%. I have about 10k in there and growing while saving up for a potential down payment. Would it be worth the hassle to open an account and switch everything over? Not the first time I've done it tho.

i hate when you have a deadline for some shyt and people start with their bullshyt at the very last minute....im helping middle man a deal for these dudes overseas who have a collection of antiques theyre trying to sell...they just dont know how to market and tourism is dry where theyre from...that's where i come in...i found some people interested in buying them...i get a nice percentage since i set up the deal and they get theirs...him and his partner decide on the day that I have to send finalized prices to the people interested in buying that they wanna split because one of them wanted 33% instead of 20% they usually get....now theyre both trying to get me to work with them separately....bruh yall couldnt do this two weeks ago? :why:

Finally got that expected rejection phone call I've been waiting a week for. Something about me not expanding on my answers enough. I always take interview 'feedback' with a grain of salt though for obvious reasons :mjpls::mjpls::mjpls:

I finally signed up for Udemy. My cheap ass wasn't about to pay for no courses, even if they were $15 . I stumbled upon some coupons for free courses :blessed: Signed up for damn near 30 of them.

Not a 6 cert thing but just got a groupon for real estate licensing course. It was $40 and the regular price was $275. Not bad for an initial investment. Besides anything to help me get out of the retail torture. I got one for my good friend as a birthday gift, who works in leasing and is going thru some problems at work with her property being sold recently. So something to help her out if things get bad for her at work. It was a Florida course but there might be ones for other states. I got a few other computer Groupon I want to use too. Anything helps if I can learn something to improve my future.
