Damn...got hit with another No. That was a tough pill to swallow as I prepped long and hard for this role and interview. I think employers are starting to trim back on hiring at the moment. Anyway, I'll keep plugging away.

So, with my Bachelor's Degree (that I have 4-5 classes left), I have about 4 real fields I can try to boss up in within the healthcare industry.

  • Coding and Revenue Cycle
  • Information Governance
  • Informatics
  • Data Analytics
I was leaning more toward the first two since they were the least intimidating and I have more experience to barter when it comes to those specific fields. But, the latter 2 are where the money is so I decided to stop being a p*ssy and start shopping around to see what it's looking like out chere. shyt got me lowkey pissed. nikkas want you to have certain experience with their specific software from elsewhere but don't nobody wanna hire yo ass so you can get that experience in the first place. Even on some help desk shyt to get a nikka started before I start at looking at System Analyst and shyt. These certs and this degree can't come fast enough. That shyt should help a LIL.

You need to be building a portfolio quickly if you don't already have one. You also better be applying if you aren't. Graduation runs up on you quick and it's real easy to get caught out. Aim for college grad programs because they'll normally be your easiest way to get your foot in the door. Honestly, you need luck and to be in the right place at the right time. The sooner you get on it the more likely you be there when lightning strikes.

@Obreh Winfrey I fa'sho been applying for like the last month or so. Which in the grand scheme of things is not that long, but at the same time, stressful in some ways. Even had interviews and whatnot. Just ain't had anyone bite yet because of that aforementioned reason (in my eyes). I know I'm capable of doing the shyt. Just need to get in the door. Thought this one jawn was promising cuz they said they were looking specifically for a grad student to train up for a year as a support associate and then decide if they wanna keep em on.

But even for me, if I wouldn't have been kept on, it would've been some dope ass exposure. Didn't pan out though so it's been back to being stucc in the grind. Had a system analyst opening pop up, and even though I know I prob won't get up, this Senior Analyst chick I know said to apply anyway and use her as a referral so we'll see with that shyt. I've made a bunch of connections working where I work now but still, ain't nothing like having your own portfolio and exp. Like you said tho, all I need is one shot and I'ma elevate. I just need somebody to recognize and come thru with that shyt.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
aight aight agiht baby!!!

I'm feeling good about my studies this week. I'm going to register for the certification exam for next week. hopefully this shyt is all it's cracked up to be.

sn: I was looking through my notes and came across this plan I had jotted and decided to share:

1 college course (3 credits) is: 48 classroom hours

8 hours per week of Private Learning = 6 weeks to "complete a college course"

Using this logic I'm planning on getting 3 certifications/college courses in the next few months.

1. is an AML cert cause I'm in banking
2. is to become a license RE agent
3. is tentatively planned as to become a licensed RE inspector

2nd sn:

anyone here in transportation or logistics want to share some insight? I was thinking of getting into the School Bus business

I'll definitely stay at my current spot until the end of the year at least (barring I don't have to relocate). I've been getting some good cost savings here. Having my rent to income ratio under 16% has been immense. However, Feb 2020 will be likely when I dip. That would have made it 3 years (2.5 of which was on a month to month arrangement :blessed:) since I moved in.

Definitely want more privacy and less/no roommates but the economics has to make sense.

The cost savings from having low rent can't be underestimated.
