I ain’t got it.Let me hold something
That’s my motto now tooI ain’t got it.
For phone interviews I blocked time on my calendar and did them during work hours. YMMV if you have to go into the office. When I did my onsite I took a vacation day and told them it was a long weekend. My boy that left the company earlier in the year did similar, but for some onsites he just made up the time by working later for a day or starting earlier. If you get unlimited sick leave, you might as well make use of that. I might have done that on a couple of days where I just didn't feel like doing anything . These things probably only work when you're on a team mature enough to not micromanage and everyone trusts everyone to get their work done.Question for my people who work corporate positions and have transitioned roles to a different company: How did you go about your actual search as it concerns using your vacation days to "get out" of the office and conduct your search?
Like did you use some of your PTO to get out of the office and follow up to positions or did you just conduct your search during/after work.
I have a lot of vacation time that my company would pay me out on when I leave. I don't want to use it since it'd be like a bonus check for me once I transition roles ($4,000+). However, I do recognize that looking for a new job can be a full-time job on it's own and sometimes you need a few days away from work for ample focus. This is especially true if you don't work right smack in the city center and are unable to interview/network during your lunch breaks.
One of my coworkers has been using up all her sick, vacation, WFH and personal days to look for a new job. I was wondering if maybe I should do the same.

I got a job in December and was still looking throughout the 3 months that I worked there. I used my PTO and "doctor's appointments" to do on-site interviews. For phone interviews, I just booked a conference room and took 'em there. For phone interviews I blocked time on my calendar and did them during work hours. YMMV if you have to go into the office. I watched this happen the other day. A dude who works in my office, not a direct coworker, was shooting the shyt talmbout his rental properties. My direct coworker was like been there done that, it was a nightmare. Ol boy sad like yeah well we got a handful of them and we could retire right now if we wanted :mjmoneycall:, we just wanna sweeten the pot :moneycall:. I might have to pick his brain the next time I see him. Either that or pull up on him through messenger.I can value another perspective, I’m always open and seek out different people for their opinion. But at the end of the convo it just seemed like bc he was burned In the past he was scared to hop back in the game. That’s why I keep lost things on the hush hush, another man gon always tell you why something won’t work as opposed to how it will
Yea luckily for you it’s a Breh you can physically lay eyes on. But the cool thing about now vs 20 years ago is you can learn game from almost anyone. On social media, FaceTime, on here even.I watched this happen the other day. A dude who works in my office, not a direct coworker, was shooting the shyt talmbout his rental properties.
