When I worked in Cambodia my to work commute was a 7 min walk. GOAT internship.
My commute is a 10 second walk into my office :blessed:
. Some days I still leave work early to beat the traffic
Made a bad financial decision on Saturday and now I feel like I have to double down and just see this through :francis:
I made mine on Sunday. Funny thing is, I totally meant to do it on Saturday but was too lazy to get off my ass. On Sunday I almost talked myself out of it :franchit:. I went on ahead with it anyway. But hey, what I lose out on investment ability I'll make up for in credit building. Just more motivation to go get paid.

I initially went with the more modern look (boxes, color, etc). But, after consulting with the career people at my school who already work in the field I'm trying to get in, I went back to the basics with the minimalist look. I got about 5-6 straight up different ones though depending on what I'm applying for.

I really want to look for a new position outside of my current company, but the way I have things set up now: come in late, 2 hour lunches, leave early, man it’s hard to walk away from that :wow:

I feel you. That's the hardest thing about moving on (for me). I get two hour lunches, and pretty much have carte blanche in all manner of speaking with being at this small company for 9 years. But, you gotta ask yourself, are you maximizing your full potential? Both financially and mentally. Cause I can do my current job in my sleep, with my hands tied. But, I don't get paid nearly as much as I want to. The ceiling is too low. And it's not challenging for me anymore. It's gonna be rough to potentially succumb to 30 min lunches with 15 min breaks, but if a nikka gon break the bank, best believe I'll suck it up.

I’m definitely not maximizing my full potential, a colleague of mine just recently left the company and got her VP position at CitiBank, and she was already making 6 figures. I know for a fact that I could go get that same type of position, but I’m just being too comfortable with my set up. I literally run my own show over here with my portfolio. I would hate to go back to 1 hour lunches and showing up to work on time :russ:

I watched this happen the other day. A dude who works in my office, not a direct coworker, was shooting the shyt talmbout his rental properties. My direct coworker was like :hhh: been there done that, it was a nightmare. Ol boy sad like yeah well we got a handful of them and we could retire right now if we wanted :mjmoneycall:, we just wanna sweeten the pot :moneycall:. I might have to pick his brain the next time I see him. Either that or pull up on him through messenger.
Update on this story. Me, this coworker, and another got back on the topic of money because of my purchase ( can I get :mjmoneycall: mixed with :mjcry:?) and ol boys story came up because I went and did exactly the opposite of his advice. God damn if my coworker ain't a hating ass MF :russ:. Huffing and puffing talmbout ol boy was just talking about how great he doing and how he doesn't need to work, and this that and the other :beli:. On the outside I'm like :ld: but on the inside I'm like :umad: fukk is you so mad for breh? The man was just sharing his story to inspire us to have multiple income streams. Clearly he missed the mark with my coworker.

Actually, because of ol boy's story I changed up my 401k contributions. I was doing 6% pre and 6% post. I got rid of the post since the company isn't matching that. I'm going to put that money back into savings, rebuild what I had (I spent more than intended but didn't overextend), and start getting ready to pick up some rental property again. A friend of mine is trying to get into that. I'm disappointed he didn't mention anything sooner, and kinda upset he didn't pull me into his current plans, but it's not a big deal.

Got an offer for another position. A 15% bump in salary but I'm gonna turn it down. It's good, but it's not that position that will really satisfy 3 year plan.

I know they say don't tell anyone you're leaving your company until the day you leave, but I'm like F it. I'm reaching out to people in other departments to get me plugged in. Meeting with a Director in our Cop Dev department to get me plugged into his network. He used to do investment banking on Wall St. so there you have it.

My resume and work experience is good, but I need to get it in front of the right people that can influence hiring
