I’ve kinda compiled the certifications I’m hoping to get within the next year or so, with focus on two to make my grad school application a little more strong (applying to a CS/information science degree with no prior computer science coursework).


What’s the difference between a Sec+ 401 and 501?

Can I have someone give me a brief overview of CCNA (or even Net+) , what sort of materials it involves, and how often they apply that knowledge day to day? I'm considering going over the stuff for a couple of networking certs because it might help in my area of focus. I don't think I'll be dikking around in Docker for too much longer and want to be ready when the time comes.

I thought I posted that in the IT thread :skip:. Nah, I'm trying to position myself right if I leave my current company but work on the same general technology. What I see my colleagues going doesn't seem transferable and I know I'm going to be doomed to that same fate if I'm not careful.

I need to stop grabbing complicated tickets at work. This dude puts a ticket in to create email accounts for some contractors, but he didn't do through all the steps with HR. He put it in a month early and put "urgent" on the ticket. It's now over a month later and I'm being pulled into group chats with dude, dude's manager, dudes assistant, HR, and I don't even know who else.

They're on the west coast. If I had been smart and ignored the ticket, I'd be chilling now.

They haven't gone through HR to get the go ahead for these contractors to be official. There's a bunch of HR stuff that's supposed to happen before I even know about these people. When I asked HR about them, they didn't know anything.

Imagine if some dude just made a ticket telling the IT guy to create some accounts for some random people.

HR is consistently the most useless group of people at every company I’ve ever worked at. Typically, they also try to shy away from dealing with non-employees so contractors/consultants have no idea who to go to.

Look, I try to be a team player but this chick on my team just doesn't get it (same chick I was thinking about trying to get with at one point in time - glad I didn't).

Like brehh...I learned this stuff by asking other people and just researching around.
