Just opened up an account with stockpile to buy stock for my daughter (shes 2).

Read a lot reviews:

Good- Can purchase stock for your kids. Allows you to buy fractional stock.

Bad- It takes a while for the shares to be purchased (happens after market). Takes a while for you to be able to w/d funds.

The bad kid of sucks, but Im going for long term growth anyways.

The good is awesome. My 2 yrs old can have part ownership in Apple, Google, Amazon, etc at a fraction of the cost.

Her Account hit its 2nd Milestone today!!!

Over $1500 @ over 19% interest since Sept.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Man...just finished writing in my journal and I'm looking back on the goals I set for 2019. Can't believe half the year is already gone.

Jan - Mar 2019 - I'd give myself a B+
  • Paid of my consumer debt
  • Saved a good bit of money
  • Got promoted at work
April - Jun 2019 - I'd give myself a C+
  • My spending got off the rails a bit
  • Kinda "coasted" at work
  • Skills development wasn't as strong as it should have been
  • Was "lukewarm" on various fronts. A bit of analysis paralysis.
  • I have started making some decent side income
Just need to plug a few gaps and keep my focus laser sharp!
I just dead my self assessment a couple of weeks ago. I was really slacking on my goals. I'd give myself a F.

Bright side, I can still get everything I wanted accomplished this year.

I'm on track to payoff my consumer debt.
I'm back on track for my Compliance certification and hopefully a new job
If that goes according to plan, I'll be on track with getting my RE license and I'm currently mulling over getting and Inspections license.

I think I got lazy cause my investment into a house-hack is netting me $1500 a month.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Problem is I am so comfy in my role. It's not just the money, it's the company, the team, the opportunities for growth/development and the flexibility. Over time I've developed a holistic look at work... have to look at the whole package and I have it pretty good right now

I've worked at a lot of jobs... there is very little worse than waking up to have to go to a job you hate. To a degree the money doesn't even matter in that context

But now that I've got a taste for programming I will make a move. Sept makes 2 years in this role (which is among the longest I've stayed anywhere) and I've done a lot + still have a lot more to go. I'll start looking around next year

That's kinda my situation too. I'm totally coasting at my job. Not only am I not learning new skills, I might be forgetting some things. But it's 5 minutes from home. I control my boss for the most part. It's 5 minutes from my mom's place so I eat lunch with her every day and watch The Price is Right.

:francis: nikkas gon' have to make me an offer I can't refuse

Finished up the financing for the truck yesterday. It was a lot of hoops to jump through, trying to be the POC between the bank/dealership and the 3 other members was a hurdle. Organizing all the documents, contracts, insurance, correspondence, etc. Still need to sit down and go through the money we spent and have it halfway decent for the accountant. Still, i wanted to take just a little bit of time to celebrate, even though we have not booked any loads.

We got hosed on the interest rate though:francis:it definitely is a learning experience, & im excited to move forward. It kind of sucks & is a blessing to have 4 members holding 25% of the comapny, bc we all share the load financially, but to be real most of the work falls on me. We all work 9-5s but ive been the guy who's been the boots on the ground so to speak...and at times its difficult trying to explain certain things we simply cant do right now or bringing up expenses the other members haven't thought about, bc they don't deal with all the numbers and paperwork.

Right now its a just a group chat, and that can get tiring every few days to give a debrief to all the members about whats going on.I honestly don't know what they do on a day to day while all this is going on behind the scenes:skip:I want to send out "Weekly Minutes" like how we do in the military. If 4 people are supposed to be in a meeting and one guy cant make it, we send an email to everyone about what the hell we talked about and everyone's tasking moving forward. That will definitely be a conversation that will have to be had in the near future. The first payments are due July 25 + Aug 5.

I'll bring it up within the next couple of weeks. It panned out as me and one guy being the main ones, and the other 2 are in the cut (who have put up their share of the capital) in the cut like "When the first check coming in:mjgrin:" Not knowing it would be best to reinvest most of the profits to really speed up the growth. Sprint for a few years to walk the rest.

Im done complaining though:hubie:, it was a good day. Got approved for the business loan, and need to screen some of these drivers to get him to orientation early next week:myman:

Sat down today and graded myself on 2019 so far.

Sad to say i haven't been doing as well as i need to be. This year is a big adjustment for me and i've spent a lot of time fighting against the current rather than accepting things for what they are and moving on. I took a serious L in April and i have not reacted properly.

With that being said, writing out things i need to improve on has me fired up. Im ready to get things moving in the right direction again for the remainder of the year.

Been a clinic manager at a small medical office for a little over 8 years. I left last year to drive Lyft/Uber full time while simultaneously finishing up school (Health Information Management), and stack some certs that the school provides and/or helps with (CompTia Project +, RHIA, CPC, etc). Was gonna wait until I finished school (5 classes left) before looking for another gig, but getting into 2 accidents within 2 months (neither my fault) fukked my whole shyt up.

So, by a stroke of luck, the person who replaced me at the office I was at before dipped out. So I was able to temp fill in to keep money flowing, but I decided to speed up the plan and start looking/applying. data analyst position's, medical coding, anything to do with "HIM". I came across this HIPAA Privacy Analyst position for a prominent hospital that pay better than what I was looking for and thought I killed the interview in front of a panel (and this is coming from someone who is self admittedly a bad interview) and felt like I hit it off with the Chief Officer only to have them repost the job position without them sending a nikka a rejection email or something :mjcry::mjtf:

Mafukkin' job search gettin' on my nerves already.

I’ve kinda compiled the certifications I’m hoping to get within the next year or so, with focus on two to make my grad school application a little more strong (applying to a CS/information science degree with no prior computer science coursework).

What’s the difference between a Sec+ 401 and 501?
