About 90% done with the financing for the first semi-truck. It came out to about 18k of hard money to finance a 50k truck. A little more than I expected, but it’s the first go round.

Not physically being there has been a hurdle and in turn what should’ve been a 2-3 day process turned into more than a week, and we still don’t have the paperwork complete:mjcry:.Getting 4 people, a driver who works odd hours part time, the dealership and the bank all on the same page has been a challenge but I’m honesty excited to wake up every day.

I’m trusting the process

Working with a guy to get my resume together over at the base im at. Best case scenario i'll leave the military next July, but could be earlier if my command speeds up some paperwork i had filed against me.

The past few months they've had me in treatment, and out of the office, for some medical issues i had come up. Now i have people telling me to earn some more qualifications before i leave the service:ld:. Tbh im just buying my time before they tell me i have to leave. I dont plan to do what i did in the military on the outside.

Also, working on getting my medical issues documented, once you get out the maximum per month you can get is around 3k tax-free:ehh:its not life changing but thats nothing to laugh at either. So thats my number one priority until they give me a date saying its my last day.

On the back end i definitely want to go back for my MBA. Whether its paid for by the GI Bill and i go to a brick + mortar school or i go back online out of pocket is still up in the air.

I initially planned to make it a career, got in some trouble, but still feel as if there's a way to turn a negative into a positive. Work on this VA check, and have that MBA on the back of my mind, while going to treatment while im still active duty. My co-workers dont like it but that's just how it's going to play out.

I still feel all over the place about where I want to go career wise. Everything seems so interesting, but it's time to focus in on something. Yesterday, I was submitted for a Qlik Developer role at $65/hr on a 1099, so I I'll see what happens. I'm not really excited about if for whatever reason because whenever I think i'm getting close to breaking that six figure point, some bullshyt happens. It's not a status thing, I just need more money so I can get my finances stabilized faster :manny: I'm not trying to work two and three jobs either, fukk that.

What does every one do here?
Right now, I'm working a Fed contract as a Business Intelligence Analyst.

Software Engineer for a large company. Most of ya'll use our product and within the next few years you'll be using stuff that I've directly had my hands on.

Before I start my next role I'll need to take some time off and blow off some steam. I'm tempted to go to Nigeria, but honestly that country can be a head case on it's own. Maybe a beach where I can get a few days to be lazy and just rest.
My contract just got renewed through Feb 2020, will bring me to two years. Honestly never expected to do more than one. Definitely taking off a few months after that.

Definitely take time off, even if it's just a week in a different city. Take some time to re-strategize and assess where you are. I don't have the luxury of taking a few months off, but I need at least a week outside of my current environment. I've always enjoyed Nigeria because it gives me a chance to "look at myself from the outside" if that makes any sense. Essentially analyze the American me from the vantage of Nigeria.

I may still pull the trigger on Nigeria simply because outside of a flight, I don't have to spend much as we have a good base in the country.

But then you have the family obligations to attend to :francis:

My dad will be like:

"Since your here, I need you to take the car to the mechanic, the AC isn't working. After that, arrange for a painter to come re-do the guest bathroom. Ohh, by the way, you're grandmother wants you to stop by and help do some housework. Don't forget to be back by 8pm. We have to go visit Dr. John Smith and I'll need you to iron my clothes for the event"
