Yet there's so many houses unoccupied doing nothing. There's a lot of abandoned buildings that could be bought and converted into homeless shelters, but the people that own those buildings don't care about that. Some of these building are churches. They're just standing there in the neighborhood. There's SO MANY churches. Get the utilities working, put some beds in there, have a reasonable curfew, security if needed, and let people have a place to lay their head. In the day time they can work (or night if permitted). You don't even have to provide food. Volunteers welcome.

Greed and neglecting the common folk has always been the downfall of empires.

People tend to overlook these people because they aren't what "homeless" looks like in most peoples eyes.

Section 8 vouchers ( which these would be the ideal candidates, but likely don't qualify) do not come in any reasonable amount of time to get these folks into housing....despite being contributing members of society.



All of this is happening, while there are people legitimately looking to live in vans/buses for funsies.

Well if you know anyone who's homeless in LA county with no address they can apply for calfresh which can give foodstamps without an address
