Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas - IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (34-0, 23KOs) will have to wait a little longer for the opportunity to face Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) in the ring.
Brook made the first defense of his IBF world title on Saturday night at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, where he dropped mandatory challenger Jo Jo Dan four times for a TKO in four.
Following the match, Brook and his promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom, called for a fight with Khan on June 13th at Wembley in London.
That won't happen, says Khan. The Bolton boxer is planning to return to the ring in late May. The opponent and network has not been finalized. Khan is already in the United States and training for the planned return with his coach Virgil Hunter in California.
"I'm fighting at the end of May. I don't think I can fight on June 13th. I mean, I think they are trying to make the public think I'm scared. I'm not scared. I'm the only fighter who's fought anyone and never refused any fight. That fight will happen, but right now I'm taking a different route. I'm focusing on the likes Pacquiao, Mayweather...that level. I want to fight the elite guys in this sport. That fight [with Brook] can happen, but not yet though," Khan told BoxingScene.com.

Claiming to be locked in for May with no opponent.
claiming to be locked in for May with no venue
Claiming to be waiting for Pac or May when they are fighting each other and would have plenty of time to fight you after you fight Brook in June. Due to the magnitude, they probably won't fight again after 5/2 until at least November. plenty of time Khan
claim to be calling shots with no belts breh
leave your country for America because the dude that would give you that work is now the biggest draw in the country
Khan, the little charade is over. Time to mix it up with your fellow second tier welterweights
