Def bound to see a ratings drop when Jericho match comes on :russ:

I think they should start off with the trios match first. Especially right at the start when the initial bump of random viewers are on. Gets people to see that Pac is back and wrestling. Plus it showcases Okada as well. So anyone that doesn't watch regularly can be like oh so this is that Okada guy that people been talking about. Get more eyes on him and the other stars in that match. Give them no choice but to wait for Mercedes not like Punk that debuted right when rampage started. Now see there does lie a problem with the whole Mercedes thing. If she doesn't debut until the end then would the crowd then boo everything else or chant or anything like cm punk chants? Or if she debuts in the beginning would it then cause people to tune away after since she already appeared and they don't care about the rest? Maybe doing it in the middle of the show works best. Long as it's before the tag match.

Nah, the dip in viewership is gonna happen no matter what after the first segment so they should try to take advantage when the audience it's at its peak to make Mercedes show up. You might get some of the usual folks that change the channel to stay, or maybe not, but you at least have the assurance her debut will have the most eyeballs during the night.

No, you save Mercedes to the end or top of the second hour. People that are tuning in for Mercedes are going to turn it off when she is done. You want the extra eyes to see the rest of the product in case they see something they like that can get them to watch the other stuff going forward and not just Mercedes.

You put her on to open the show and you just give all her fans that tuned in just to watch her every incentive not to watch a single other thing on the show. That’s good if she gets a bunch of eyes for her segment, but that’s not going to really accomplish much in helping boost the product. A big name like that should be one that helps boost the company, not just her segments.

People that only count towards the ratings because they didn’t change the channel after watching Big Bang Theory aren’t going to give a shyt about anyone showing up on AEW unless it’s one of them Big Bang Theory cast members.
I think those gains are not big at all. Mercedes will get 1 million thanks to lead in in the first segment. She'll get 700k-850k if you save it for another part of the show.

I think you get her the most eyes possible. When the ratings drop after her segment is done, who cares. The important thing is making the biggest impression possible so it builds for next week.

It’s like the Heisman Trophy show. The announcement of the winner doesn’t lead off the show. They want people sticking around for the as much of the show as possible and potentially stick around for what the show leads into, so they save it to end. If they announce the winner to lead off the show, then a lot of people are going to change the channel right after.

Mercedes is the Heisman trophy winner of the show, you don’t give it away to lead off the show and thus encourage people who watched just for her to not watch the rest.

All those lead-in viewers who didn’t change the channel after Big Bang Theory ended aren’t going to give a shyt who shows up on AEW unless it’s a Big Bang Theory cast member.

Listen.. you want to start the show off hot. They already got a Jericho match that's likely going to tank ratings or whatever so you might as well get as much out of the first segment as you can.
Get all your big stuff out of the way first and then people aren’t going to watch the rest. That’s the kind of dumb bullshyt AEW does all the time and the ratings steadily decrease throughout the night every time they do it.

You put your real main event as the actual main event, not to open the show, to encourage people to stick around for the whole show. Unless it’s something that stands a chance to run over its allotted time, then you put it on earlier in case it does run over so you can adjust everything else.
