I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
If you go back through the Oscar history, you’ll notice a lot of the films that lost Best Picture went on to become more iconic than the films that bested them. Star Wars lost to Annie Hall. When was the last time anyone watched or talked about Annie Hall? That’s just one example. Winning Best Picture isn’t a detriment though. The Godfather Part 1 & 2 won and they’re still as iconic today as they were back in the day.

I didn’t see the big deal with The Hurt Locker.
I should watch it again. It’s been a long time.

EEAAO will go down as one of the most underwhelming Best Pictures ever.

Honestly if you compare it to other Best Picture winners going back 40 years it doesn’t beat any of them.
It beast Forrest Gump, Crash, Driving Miss Daisy, The Green Book (I like this movie but I get the hate), American Beauty, The King’s Speech (the worst, imo) and The Shape of Water, imo

I'll give you The Shape of Water.
And to be fair Green Book is somewhat overrated as a movie.

It doesn't really beat anything else. Even Crash ...ok shyt I can't defend Crash too much. But at least Crashed TRIED to take on a serious issue.

And Forrest Gump? You think it beats FORREST GUMP????

crash is an awful movie that says nothing. I loved it at the time but I was 21. The older I got, the more I realized how goofy that movie was.

And Forrest Gump was delusional baby boomer porn with an extremely problematic point. (Don’t leave the country for the city and stay away from those city blacks)

Forrest Gump is a classic and the only reason....the only reason I could let you trash it is if you posted this pic:
