Happy for Brendan and Michelle. Really didn't see EEAAO winning it this big, salute to them.
Still remember first time seeing Michelle Yeoh in SuperCop with Jackie Chan in 90s :wow:

Unpopular opinion, but I think EEAAO winning 7 Oscars will hurt its legacy.
It will forever get the overrated label
but then we'll watch it and be like 'nope that was good' :heh:

on the flip side:

The English Patient’ (1996)

Total Oscar Nominations: 12

Wins: 9

when was the last time you watched that shyt?

how about this:

Chicago (2002) - 13 (won 6)
La La Land (2016) - 14 (won 6)
The Shape of Water (2017) - 13 (won 4)

EEAAO is WAY better than those 3

Who gives a shyt. I’ll forever remember it for one of the best theater experiences I’ve had. Amazing film
Again I never said it was a bad movie
I'm just stating how social media reacts to every movie that won the Oscar the past few years
We just had a poster on here who said people have forgotten about Parasite :snoop:

No movie’s legacy is ever truly “hurt” by winning oscars except for lets say something like Driving Miss Daisy and thats more so the film was utter trash than anything else. Even Morgan Freeman is ashamed of that movie.

But if the filmmakers and cast hold their head high then it is what it is. Nobody is still crying that Crash won Best Picture over Brokeback Mountain and Paul Haggis was working steadily until he got caught up in some sexual assault shyt. The cast still works steadily.

EEAOO will be remembered as the film that finally gave Asian performers the recognition they deserve, including two veteran performers and a white woman whose been a star in the business for 30 years. The “legacy” of the film will remain strong just for that alone.

No Country for Old Men and Parasite are the only worthy Best Picture winners in the last 15 years :yeshrug:Facts
