I wouldn't even watch the first one again for free even though I have only ever seen it once.

I am still wondering who this is for. Never heard ANYONE say one word about the movie Avatar since it has existed

Avatar as a movie is alright, but its one of those, "Of the NOW" movies. Where everyone is in awe of the graphic, but at the core, it's Dances with Wolves/The Last Samurai, except the leads are alright but not memorable.

I think it will do alright, but disappointing to the eyes who budgeted this because its been a decade since the movie came out and the shelf life of this franchise is limited. Terminator 2 will always be Cameron's best film.

I don't doubt that Cameron will come up with something amazing in terms of effects and look, but the story gonna be ass.

This should be shown strictly at theme parks using the technology from Flight of The Banshee at Disney. Now that was an experience.

Avatar is prolly the most expensive forgettable movie ever.

Reading this thread made me realize that I never watched or thought about this movie since I saw it at the theater in '09. :dwillhuh:

I watched it for the 3D - enjoyed the experience - and then completely forgot it existed. I don't hate the film, but it has the least replay value of any hyped/successful film in my lifetime...and I really don't know why :dwillhuh:

Avatar is prolly the most expensive forgettable movie ever. That shyt ain't had no cultural impact at all.

I have to agree with the bolded. I will always appreciate how Cameron is always trying to push film and effects technology forward but Avatar is not a compelling story for me.

Every movie James Cameron gets doubted and he slaughters the box office. Aliens had a really hard time living up to the original and he kills it. Terminator was an underground classic. When T2 came out it smashed T1 to bits. Titanic was the most expensive movie ever at the time. They wanted to pull the plug. They were making jokes about it being a real life Titanic and it was most money making movie ever ul to that point. Avatar was about blue people, we doubted a full CGI world would be good but it of course smashed it. Doubt James Cameron again, brehs.

actually it did. Studios and theaters started to offer movies in 3D a lot more after the numbers Avatar put up.

I'm not talking about the 3D technology in theaters that came after, that's a totally different thing.

Literally nobody talks about Avatar. It was just some movie that had cool effects years ago and that's it. TDK came out the year before and still has hype around it til this day.
