North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
WHY ARE YOU QUOTING ME
AND LITERALLY REPEATING
WHAT I POSTED?

because I used the word "gimmick" sarcastically. As to say that's why the movie was a success. I don't believe that to be the case. Some of the best movies of all time, had simple plots. A lot of movie themes, get retold and re imagined all the time. Yet for some apparent reason, the one that did it the best gets criticized for no reason.

They're all blue.

Prediction: The people will be able to Avatar into the human world and they'll introduce new worlds and races they can Avatar into.

makes sense like maybe their race is able to turn into different aliens and it's like ascending into higher planes of themselves
delves into the spiritual aspect of the first one nicely

cameron always delivers

the terminator, alies, terminator 2, true lies, titantic, avatar
Cameron is my favorite director of all time, and he was THE director that got me interested in film as a kid, got me into acting, and for a while made me want to be a filmmaker myself. I've watched T1 through True Lies legit more times than I can begin to count. We had a cat growing up that I named Hicks because of Aliens, and I'd love for my next dog to be Hudson.

That being said I've never loved Avatar. I was blown away by the visual spectacle, but my favorite thing about Cameron's movies were that they all told very good stories and had memorable characters on top of the amazing visuals, set pieces, special effects, etc.

Avatar was just such a generic story to me that I'm never in the mood to go back and watch it. I probably should, just to give it a fair shot after all these years, but in that case I really thought he used a super basic ass story to justify all the new tech, special effects, and pageantry.

I'll always give him a pass for T1, Aliens, Abyss, T2, True Lies, and Titanic...but yeah...I don't really like Avatar and I'm not as excited for Avatar 2 as I wish I was.

I did see it in 3D

doesnt keep it from being a boring movie
Also call me a buzz kill but at least where I saw it the 3D glasses were square and uncomfortable as fukk. And that was before I got LASIK so I had to put them over my regular glasses.

Not only was it not immersive but it was distracting and uncomfortable
