@GoldenGlove point, and what many believe to be the case, is that Zach/Klutch found out he was going to go to Detroit and then made the decision to opt for an operation that would keep him out for the rest of the year.

If he was getting traded to the Lakers, he wouldn't have gotten an operation.
That wouldn't have mattered anyways in the grand scheme of things is my point as the trading team would have found out about the bad foot anyways during the physical and potentially vetoed the trade anyways at their discretion. The physical was how Levert found out about his health issues and the Pacers had the option then to veto the trade altogether.

That foot issue was going to come out regardless of whether was traded or not, so technically he did Detroit the favor in not wasting their team as they were potentially going to veto it anyways.

Is the foot bad enough to fail a physical? Or is this just a tactic to get out being traded to a team he didn’t doesn’t want

Like Ben Simmons' back injury when he was traded to Brooklyn right?

Brooklyn could have said no and vetoed the trade if they really wanted to do so, but they still chose to go through with it. A failed physical isn't necessarily enough to stop a trade from going through with the Levert one being a good example.

If it's bad enough to require surgery, then it's likely enough to fail a physical and was going to have to get it at some point anyways. Remember Bol Bol failed his with Detroit a few years ago and then ended up getting the surgery anyways even after getting traded to Orlando.

Theoretically, Detroit could still say fukk it and trade for him anyways if they really want him even with the surgery.

Prediction: The Bulls go on a run and start trending up the standings, then you'll hear rumblings about LaVine being ahead of schedule and trying to return for the Playoffs. And that'll be another thing the team and Klutch go back and forth on.

He wasn't going to fail a damn physical for his foot.

this shyt has me fukking furious. I'm not gonna lie. AKME really fumbled this trade. furthermore, this wreaks of bullshyt as well cuz the last thing this dude wanted to do is go to detroit. I was praying that they were gonna send him to a destination like that to a team he does NOT wanna go to.
