Nobody wants Lavine
1B piece :dead:
Guy is a losing player who's hurt all the time, Bills were parading him around all season and every single team was like "nah, we good"

Yet another horrible NBA contract given out where the team doesn't really even want the player but they're too scared to lose them for nothing
Could always be worse.

Look at Bradley Beal's contract.

It's a fact. Playoffs been a bloodbath for folks and the landscape is changing. The legends (KD,Steph, Bron) won't have the chokehold they once did and some teams might see Zach as a 1b piece. Throw in Caruso and it could put a team from first round tough out to Conference Final contender.

I'm hoping the "get me out of here" bonanza actually turns into Chicago getting some young pieces that grow. AKME gotta cook this summer.
A lot of teams will be making changes. These play-in teams won't stand pat. There will be opportunities out there, it's all on AK to do work and finesse this situation.

This why you don't trade lavine for peanuts. Landscape changing. Lavine being younger athletic etc makes him a candidate for teams looking to make change around their aging stars. Can see quite a few teams on the phone with the Bulls as lavine is one of few available guys on the move.

He’s 29 and only played more than 70 games 3 times and two of them being his first two years. We literally don’t know what he will be coming back off this injury either.

:comeon:
This season was a wash because he clearly was being rumored to Detroit and instead of going along with that, he made a business decision and had surgery to ensure that wasn't happening. The injuries were nagging/inflammation related anyway.

If you want a better idea on the player LaVine is, I wouldn't look at him when he was obviously disgruntled and frustrated with the FO and staff and seemingly checked out. He'll have something to prove coming back and the limited games he did come back, he was playing winning basketball.

the Suns just flamed out after getting Beal for basically a bunch of second round picks

why would any team be clamoring to give up anything of value for Lavine?

*sighs*

Because at his best, LaVine 24PPG scorer on close to 50% from the floor and 38% from 3 with high volume.

Zach LaVine is not washed, he just was tired of playing under Donovan and wants to move on. There will be teams out here that evaluate where they sit within the conference and act accordingly.

It's not about them clamoring for him really, it's about players being made available and teams that aren't FA destinations that will have to trade for high level talent. Also, if you're the Bulls, if you're are faced with a situation where you can add a better player than Zach on your team, then I can see them attaching assets with him to make that deal... which changes this discussion

He doesn't have a no trade clause to artificially drive his value down like Beal did. I think he gets moved relatively easily in the summer with more teams having cap space to absorb his money. The salary dump alone is huge value to the bulls at this point.

Salary dump is only beneficial if they plan on using the space to get better. If the bulls were to trade Lavine jsut to get rid of him, Bulls fans should boycott protest.

I think they'll move him this summer too, I just dont have much of an expectation anything of interest is coming back to Chicago. Agreed on the point about teams having the cap to absorb him making this easier. I dont see any pathway where we are sending out Zach in a deal and getting a "better" player back
