1. Bloodborne
2. Resident Evil 2 Remake

The rest in no order:
  • Resident Evil 7
  • Dark Souls 3
  • Sekiro
  • Street Fighter V
  • Hitman 2
  • Detroit Become Human

That's only 8 titles

I have an extensive backlog and own but haven't finished TLOU2, Ghosts of Tsushima, God of War, Horizon, Resident Evil 3, Spider-Man, Streets if Rage 4, Nioh and more yet. I'll also be copping Cuphead, Tony Hawks and Cyberpunk 2077 this year. So a lot can change on my list but I don't see Bloodborne losing the number 1 spot.

A much, much better open world game than RDR2 was The Witcher 3, my favorite game of all time

Roach >>>>>> Arthur’s horse

:stopitslime:

I really want to like tw3 because I loved tw2 but it didn't grab me like rdr2 did. I felt like tw3 was too big, outside of the villages there wasn't much and the exploration could've been better. Also most of the npcs were bland

Plau sometimes they talk way too much but idk I hope the game grows on me

In no particular order...

Horizon Zero Dawn
The Witcher 3
Spider-Man
RDR2
Alien Isolation*
Ghost of Tsushima
AC Odyssey
MGSV*
P.T.**
TLOU2

*Technically cross gen but they were only experienced by me on current gen.

**Only a teaser but to this day, the most unnerving horror game I've played. The photorealistic graphics made this one insane.

Honorable mention goes to 'Until Dawn.'

Surprising lack of BOTW
alot of us are in our mid 30s. The switch is widely seen as a console for kids and BOTW art design doesn't really inspire to feel different about that narrative.
We can't go from NBA 2k to Uncharted to MK11 and than BOTW without noticing a clear difference in target audience

i mean obviously BotW is more kid friendly than something like Uncharted but it’s not like it’s a game made specifically for children. The game doesn’t really hold your hand and the puzzles/gameplay engine lends itself to smarter, more experimental players. In terms of sheer gameplay I’d say stacks up well against any popular open-world game. Doesn’t really have the most engrossing narrative that’s gonna keep you playing to find out what happens next, but the world itself and how you navigate through it is the star of the show IMO:hubie:

There’s a lot of other RPGs/Adventure games I personally enjoy more than BotW but I can see how it would be some people’s GOAT game. I got 150 hours on it myself:manny:

The game is pretty serene and it's art style lends to its overall presentation. It's also a breath of fresh air

But the gameplay is the where the game shines

1. Red Dead Redemption 2
2. God of War
3. Spiderman
4. Detroit: Become Human
5. Assassin Creeds Origins
6. Far Cry 4
7. Batman - Arkham Knight
8. NBA 2K14 (game wasn't really all that but the graphics were impressive as hell, the only game that truly came with it in that department the 1st year. It is still better looking that the latest 2Ks)
9. Space reserved (Last of Us 2, have not finished it..will be much higher)
10. Space reserved (Cyberpunk)

Honorable Mentions:

1. Odyssey
2. Far Cry 5

I need to try Witcher 3, Ghost of T, I am sure both those games would have made it for me
