forget NES/SNES it doesnt have N64/PS1 games on it really, let alone PC games like Unreal Tournament, Starcraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Quake, etc.

I agree these lists are getting way too predictable. Like I get that influence and innovation should be recognized. But there’s been way better games that dropped. That’s better than OOT and Tetris.

list is horrible. they could at least explain their process. is it the most impactful game for its time? is it the best playing version of a game in a series today? sf2 is more important but sf4 with netplay and DLC are a better experience right now. it would be nice if we had some criteria to work with.

and elden ring at #1 is just trolling.

How do you make a top 100 list of the greatest games ever with no Contra, Mario 3, Mega man, Super Metroid, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? No Gunstar Heroes? No Streets of Rage?
Resident Evil 2, Final Fantasy Tactics, and A Link to the Past?

How do you not include the two fighting games that birthed the greatest FGC moments of all time? (MvC2 and 3rd Strike)
Or the fighting game that laid the foundation for every other fighting game worth anything to even exist? (Street Fighter 2, especially Super Turbo)
Why is Chrono Trigger so low?

How do you make a list like this with no Metal Gear, Castlevania, Mega Man, or any Sonic game at all in placing the top 50? (No Sonic 3 and Knuckles? )

And having no Mario in the top ten is blasphemous.
Nearly other game worth anything only exists because Mario laid the ground rules for game design in both 2D and 3D.

You can tell whoever made this list started gaming after 2000 and never truly dug through the crates.
