I have a hard time seeing that sort of scapegoating in Jesus at all. He repeatedly affirms that our negative actions come from our own heart.
And it's not just Jesus, throughout the Bible it's made clear that man is given a choice. There's all sorts of famous passages about that. Whereas "the devil" is virtually never mentioned, and he's not seen as the one responsible for human behavior. Humans are always responsible for human behavior. If you hear a preacher saying otherwise, he's distorting the Gospel.
yes
from my perspective I agree with Jews/Muslims on the nature of "angelic" spirits. They do not have free will and merely suggest to humans (guide/deceive). This would be an adequate explanation for how spiritualists such as Voodoo and Wicca have a strict reasoning to not conjure evil magicks. In essence the spirits do nothing, man just screws himself
that said the act of sin is on man and man alone. From my perspective, Adam and Eve with their imagination imagined god being wrong and that screwed it all up.
Islam says that Iblis (satan) deceives us because he is commanded to only obey god yet was commanded to bow to Adam. To prove to god that humanity is flawed and not worthy of bowing he deceives us
in the bible "satan" is allowed to live and harm human beings via deception because ultimately humans are making the choice. I re-read Job and realized I misinterpreted why Job was in the wrong in the first place (treating the worship of God and his religion as transactionary)
basically its calling out people who only do good because of what they believe they will receive. Its a false doctrine
