Yes and no. Eleggua is syncretized as Eshu in carribbean Ifa, or as Eshu-Eleggua while in Nigeria he is just Eshu. Eleggua really means 'Eshu is home' But Eleggua was known as Elegbara before. And really Ifa is the Yoruba way of the same practice as Afa from the Dahomeys and the Fon. So there is major major overlap with barely that many differences. The difference is mainly in depiction and some veneration but hes always the guardian of destiny and the crossroads, a symbol of supreme order and supreme chaos at once, one of the few beings who can speak directly to the one and only almighty God. But of course Cacs came through and tried to call Eshu the devil because of his take no shyt yet playful trickster nature, red colors and his wepaon of choice, the trident.
These dudes dont realize that the Orishas, the Lwas, The Mpungos, The Alusi and so on and so forth are Gods the same way that the Elohim aka Angels are divine in The Bible (Torah) and Angels and Jinn are divine in the Koran. We all believe in only ONE supreme God. Europeans were the ones that always have multiple Gods with their concept of Greek and Norse mythology, or the Holy Trinity, because their ancestors from ancient India also had thousands of Gods on the same level. Thats why Islam spread in Africa easier and less bloody than Christianity did. I do like some forms of Christianity tho specificaly the more Ancient ones. Catholicism and Orthodox Christianity is more compatible with African religions, Protestantism is not and since most diasporic Black people are Protestant in the States and Canada thats why you have such a distaste for ATR
