Black spirits needed to be murdering cac colonizers hundreds of years ago.

But they gone jump around and scare random people for no good reason huh. Useless supernatural powers forreal.
Yeah, I've never found that shyt appealing. Supposedly supernatural beings with incomprehensible power yet they completely ignore the people talking over the world just to spend all their time fukking around with poor folk, uneducated folk, and teenagers.

It seems pretty clear it's a go-to for folk dealing with shytty stuff in life who feel they have no power over their circumstances and are willing to try anything.

another great mystery arising in genetics are when they try to follow mother-based mitochondrial DNA that at most is only 6000 years old (mitochondrial eve)

they are trying to explain this away but its becoming more and more difficult

in fact what I believe and what many see is that genes havent become more robust but rather weaker and fragmented with each successive generation

natural selection and adaptation truthfully work in reverse :whew:
Can you cite any sources? Have heard this 6,000 year claim made. However, in reference to actual archaeological remnants, not human genome.

Working with the Orishas is not the same as Biological/Historical Ancestral Veneration .

Your ancestors serve as a middle man to the Most High. So, while still giving praise and thanksgiving to him - you can still work with your ancestors. But, make sure to always start with going to the Most High first - and ask him to bless the spirits of your ancestors - you can also specify any ancestors you feel you need or want to make sure their spirit is blessed by name.

I honor my ancestors daily - and if I need something or need to talk - first I go to the Most Hight and then I speak to them. I ask them to speak to the Most High on my behalf as well.

But, I would just offer - There are different types of ancestors: biological, historical, spiritual, and deities (Orishas). So know what ancestors you are honoring and the correct way to do so.

If one wants to build a stronger connection with their ancestors you must do your family tree - and know their names. It is also best to know something about them. The Good or Bad. This is important - because it may not be best to reconnect with certain ancestors - for a plethora of reasons. It can bring unwanted experiences, energies and consequences in your life and surroundings.

Also, may sure you are dedicated and see it as a lifestyle change - even if a small lifestyle change.

BTW: many of us grew up with Ancestral altars in our homes and grandparents homes - we just didn't know what it is. The table with the pictures and candles, the Bible, oils and flowers on it by the chair where your granny or Mom went to pray every morning. Yeah....
Exactly. He thought I was talking about the ancestors in a literal sense

I'm like go back futher :russ:

Like Candyman. Why is he messing with people living in the projects instead of the descendants of his lynchers :what:

Man listen.

Most pseudo-science inclined people pretend to see the world uniquely through a scientific prism but don't respect basic rules of science, such as being able to pronounce themselves on stuff existing or not.

That's not even getting on the system of white supremacy, which is pervasive and permeates through all spheres of human activity. Science and religion are not exempt.
You already know how a breh raised in his traditional beliefs would be hit with the :camby:

Until it's "validated" by the white-dominated scientific world:

Always struck me that the smartest scientists I know always avoid falling into the traps of scientism, whatever their personal beliefs are.

I appreciate quantum physics a lot for shaking the scientific world and bringing about deep questions about the philosophy of science.

I made a thread on materialism/physicalism back then:
https://www.thecoli.com/threads/physicalists-get-in-there.711468/

Man.... I need to check out that thread. But yea I'm glad many people here are seeing what I'm seeing and not forming a hive mind and attacking this. And yea even the smartest scientist fall victim to this shyt. This is why like you I am glad physics has shaken shyt up. Speaking of "until it's "validated" by the white-dominated scientific world." Whenever Europeans encounters other cultures they always shyt on their traditional knowledge, calling it "superstitious", only to later confirm there is a core of truth to it. However, every time traditional knowledge has been vindicated (e.g. placebo effect) their intellectuals are defiant and try to downplay it because it doesn’t fit with their materialism. That is the mental deficit on their part. They can only view the world in materialism which is why most of their metaphysical systems/religions were imported.

how does one representing Christ even post something like this? nothing "helpful" about conjuring up demonic spirits or using witchcraft in any form.

:what:
First of all this is not "witchcraft" but old non-European science. Second, there are many Christians in not just Haiti but also West Africa who indulge in these practices. Anyways, this convo not meant for you.

Interesting.

A couple of years ago, I attended the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. One of my favorite acts was this group called Ibeyi from Cuba.

At the beginning of their performance, they sang this chant to Eleggua who is known as the "opener of the way". I found out they sing this chant at the beginning of all their performances. It's in Yoruba.

When I first heard it I thought it was mesmerizing.

I know there are differences in these practices across the Americas but I know all of it goes back to Oyo and Dahomey.

Is "Eleggua" the same as "Legba"?
I believe Eleggua is also know as Eshu or something like that. They tried to give the audience a little filler about Santeria because their music is based off of it and Yoruba symbolism.

Their most famous song was River, which was about a River Orisha?

Supposedly their is Yoruba symbolism in this video and they even sing in Yoruba in the end.

Edit:

I also found it comforting that their rituals are done in Yoruba like Islamic worship is conducted in Arabic or Christian worship in Latin among some churches.

That's really dope, and it's cool that they perform in Yoruba. I'm not pressing play on those videos, though. You're not about to have me playing incantations so the Orishas can visit me during quarantine; no sir!
