As the cliché states, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink. People don't want it. You have people in the thread who actually work or have worked in the oil industry and you have posters saying they can't do it talking about it's too hard or cacs are going to kill me while they happen to be working alongside them right now. People will always make excuses about why they can't do something. You know what else? Those are usually the same people who'll be the loudest naysayers asking why you're doing XYZ attempting to get long money.
6 months for $150k? In some parts of the country, that puts you in the 1% of incomes and in the top 5% (3.71335% to be exact) of incomes across the US.
There's a few brothers over on BGOL (moblack, LordSinister, maxdawg) who work in the industry and dropped info on how to get all types of jobs. I can bet right now, that less than 5 people, through the years, have seriously inquired on how to get put on.
