Breh how the hell you making that low on a Dollar Tree account?

Them shyts are hand unload with alot of backing, and pay $1400 to $1600 a week

Something you ain't telling me. How much stops you do a day? Do you hand unload?

Yep hand unload via the roller racks. Im a company driver and we only get 3 loads a week. $220 per trailer unloaded.

I typically go on a long haul once a week(to get the miles) Today im in Ohio got 3 stops on this trailer

It's a very, very risky job. They don't tell you that some of the sites you work at can go up in flames. Someone that posts on another forum I visit mentioned that he was on his off day when he heard that the site exploded and the people who were working it had literally disappeared. Is the risk worth the reward?

Yeah that long haul on a job like that is useless

You make the money on stops and unloads. Take shorter runs and more stops and your pay would increase

Sounds like you turn down loads to drive long distances

Easier for country/southern brehs but anyone should probably do it if they can.

All my mom's uncles worked in the oil fields in east Texas and Louisiana back in the day. None of their wives ever had to work and they all raised big families.

For a young breh: go to school, join the military or do something like this.

I had a good friend from the military who ended up doing this but he was actually a cook and worked in the dining facility. He made a grip of loot and seemed rather chill. He ended up leaving after a few years and hanging around college and now has some percentages ( he was in an investment group that has some percentages of something called zona rosa it has a dikks, buffalo wild wings and a bunch of other stuff in Kansas City) as far as I can tell that is basically all he does now...

And mind you this is a dude that got out of the military as a SGT (E-5) and 80-90% disability decided to work the pipeline for about 2-3 years went to college for about a year or two... And somehow got into this group.

My dad did some of this work, in between stints as a truck driver while in the Reserves.

Had me get my CDLs too, just in case.

If one is really to essentially be a short-term laborer with no collective bargaining power, I'd say go for it. You have to have a thick-skin, and watch your back, and you maybe screwed if you get injurered, but the money really is there. Its exploitation in a sense, but you'll be rewarded if you can avoid the common pitfalls.

Yep let it be a stepping stone. But nooooo what are we pushing ourselves to do? Go to college and drown in debt by the time you graduate. You're making 70k a year but it's technically 40k because Sallie Mae and Uncle Same have their hands in your pockets. But hey your parents can brag about you having a degree.

Yeah oil field work is work and yes it's tiring but you're not supposed to spend 40 years out there.

All this
