This may go over your head or you may catch it but being bigoted and racist aren't the same thing. Being bigoted is HATING a group of ppl solely b/c they're different from your own. Racism is a system to ensure that you stay the ruling class. There are plenty of white republicans who have black friends, but ask them how they feel about the conditions or state of the community, or even mention the accomplishments of black ppl throughout history and watch they whole shyt switch up.

Also for @CDoty, "ism" implies a practice or an act, not a belief:

-ism
noun suffix .
: the act, practice, or process of doing something
: behavior like that of a specified kind of person or thing
: unfair treatment of a group of people who have a particular quality

Therefore, racism is not just thinking blacks are inferior, it's implimenting systems to make that a reality
QFT. :salute:

Out here in my damn drawls
I'm so fukking tired of the confederate flag. Living in NC I see it way more than I care for, and just about everyone that waives it or wears is racist, yet they swear up and down it's just a "southern pride" thing.

Down here in South Cac that garbage is still in front of the state house. I remember one time this old black veteran dressed up in a Santa Claus suit in the middle of summer, pulled out a lighter, some fluid and burned that shyt to the ground :heh: They took him to jail and put up another one the next day and a few hundred of those fakkits camped out in front of it talmbout they were protecting the state's legacy and pride :aicmon:.

I swear, on graduation day, imma throw my cap up in the air and be in a U-Haul out of this muthafukka before it hits the ground. I finished my 22 year bid in this state, I'm ready to get the fukk out :ohlawd:. Matter of fact, I might throw the whole U.S. in a bush for awhile

In germany the Nazi flag is illegal to display and represent.

Then your comprehension of my points is piss poor. I'm not telling anyone to interpret anything a certain way, my point is that there are many reasons for why someone feels a certain way about a symbol, and that's on them.

The Nazi flag was the symbol of the nazi party. It's not an offensive symbol, but because it's associated with radical neo-nazism and genocide and war and all that shyt, it becomes a horrible symbol.

The original swastika by itself is not an offensive symbol whatsoever.

As far as the national CSA flag and its derivatives, you're implying I'm defending the circumstances in which it was created. I am not. I am defending other people's freedom to honor it. I'm simply respecting the view that some people hold about a symbol, that again, is open to interpretation, because again, there are many interpretations as it is a symbol.

How Davis viewed the flag is different from how many others may have perceived it. N

Some people see the flag many of us honor as an offensive, disgusting symbol. Your entire world view is different from mine, and vice-versa. Our experiences, our upbringing—everything shapes how we perceive something as innocuous as a shape with colors and stars and shyt on it.

If someone chooses to honor a symbol without hurting me or my family, I believe they should be free of persecution of any kind.
I understand your philosophy, but certain symbols, in this country, are offensive to the majority. I'm not sure if that's what you consider "hurting" though. In any event, I believe that people should have the freedom to wear/display the confederate flag and those who disagree should have the right to voice their opposition.
