I don't really pay attention to stuff like this but I saw someone do a New edition mashup with a k pop group where they apparently jacked their whole shyt. So I was under the impression that k pop is literally korean people jacking new jack swing and early 90s RNB.

Pretty much

Things only go outta style when we do em. Drop it off and on to the next thing. Then some other race plays dress up and it's popular again :francis:

What sound has ever come back en masse? Raphael Saddiq did a couple of projects sounding like some old 60’s shyt, but everyone wasn’t on that. D’Angelo made a jazz album, everyone wasn’t on that. Beyonce and drake made house music, that didn’t take off as a wave. I can’t think of any distinct sound of an era that has been recycled on a “this has come back” level
disco esque tracks came back hard these last couple years.

I wouldn't say that. A lot of popular songs in the last 10 years have a retro/old school vibe (inspired by music from the '70s to '00s).

Give examples because I don’t see any mass movement of this stuff. And I especially don’t see any 70’s sounding stuff besides October London and muni love being stuck in the late 90s/early 00s. Where is this mass movement of these sounds coming back?

A lot of Dua Lipa's hit songs take inspiration from the '70s and '80s.

"Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter which was a huge hit last year.

I don't like her but "Say So" by Doja Cat was disco-inspired.

I could go on...

The weekend and Tory lanez basically been doing 80s homage.

Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak had a huge throwback album....

Yea I said there’s an occasional project, but whereas NJS was THE sound most the popular people made, the majority of people now aren’t doing old sounds.

True....but even look at the ball brother.....he came out of nowhere with that throwback shyt....anything possible....

I think if someone did it right it could hit :ehh:
