CHICAGO
Bop never left Chicago

On the other hand, that ATL futuristic movement was nationwide. And bop was heavily influenced by that at that time.

Teezo touchdown just made like the retro bop song.

His image is too detroit gene Simmons kiss wcw demon tho. Not sure how that will translate.

Yet mano e mano= chicago retro bop

What sound has ever come back en masse? Raphael Saddiq did a couple of projects sounding like some old 60’s shyt, but everyone wasn’t on that. D’Angelo made a jazz album, everyone wasn’t on that. Beyonce and drake made house music, that didn’t take off as a wave. I can’t think of any distinct sound of an era that has been recycled on a “this has come back” level
Memphis rap. Even country singers biting they shyt :wow:

Nah…

The women in this era don’t like all that serenading and shyt.

Bobby Brown is flabby now, Jodeci as well…

Get well K-Ci btw
Teddy Riley aka Teddy Lo still looks healthy

Cats were dancing and wearing them dikk Tracy shiny suits and actually dancing.

Do we even have a DJ like Clark Kent or Kid Capri in this era???

No, the culture of dancing and partying that made it popular doesn’t exist anymore. And most old sounds don’t come back around again other than the occasional throwback song/project or sample.
I wouldn't say that. A lot of popular songs in the last 10 years have a retro/old school vibe (inspired by music from the '70s to '00s).

The funny thing is that if Drake wasn't hell bent on making the same downtempo shyt for 15 years, he'd be the perfect vessel to bring it back.

On TikTok, not in the club where 90% of this music was played.
You don’t go no where that plays soca, dancehall etc which is what’s in at lounges clubs bars right now.

Coli thinks it’s still the mid 2000s :russ:
