What sound has ever come back en masse? Raphael Saddiq did a couple of projects sounding like some old 60’s shyt, but everyone wasn’t on that. D’Angelo made a jazz album, everyone wasn’t on that. Beyonce and drake made house music, that didn’t take off as a wave. I can’t think of any distinct sound of an era that has been recycled on a “this has come back” level

Yes. Current R&B has no juice. If artists started making New Jack Swing inspired music, it would do just as well if not better than the R&B that's out....which isn't saying much.

That fast forward from 1993 to about a decade later in like 2012, 2013-2014 or so.
To when bop reigned.

That bop gets lost in drill being evil bop.

Yet they replaced new jack swing after it was dead-dead. As a pop construct.

On the other hand, that ATL futuristic movement was nationwide. And bop was heavily influenced by that at that time.
