Yep this speaks to the greed of capitalism unfortunately.
Some people are going to be in a horrible position if they can't work, a lot of people will end up homeless after a week let alone a month if they can't work
And we can blame the federal reserve for that more than capitalism, they ruined the value of the dollar and influenced people to spend vs saving cause our money is worthless

I agree. Essential workers put their lives on the line during this pandemic, I think they should have received a pay boost.

I work in the grocery industry, my company hired over 10,000 new employees, ang that were laid off from their jobs and also gave them all a pay boost.

I feel very fortunate to be in a position to work from home. Many aren’t. I didn’t understand why only unemployed people received extra pay, when it’s the essential workers that have been getting us through... this wasn’t handled right.

let’s just hope this summer goes okay.

Fear.

If this wasn’t shoved through then you would probably have people trying to break into your home out of desperation.

I agree that none of those people should be experiencing economic hardship but part of the reason they are is because of capitalism. The social safety net should be taking care of them all for now.

I don’t know how long it will take and you don’t either, so no need to guess. New information is coming out every day. Old information is debunked every day. Drug companies are doing trails of medication. Companies are manufacturing PPE at a high rate. Testing is improving and being rolled out more rapidly. When we get to a point we’re these things are more readily available, we should start opening. Not before.

Like homie above said, the dumbass White House even rolled out guidelines on when to open and states done already leapfrogged them so nikkas can stand in line for J’s.

Would you listen to the white house? :scust:

I don't necessarily agree with States opening earlier than they should and too quickly, but I don't blame em at the same time. No leadership from the white house and people are running around losing their minds. States can handle unemployment for a long extended period of time and a collapsing economy?

I agree with you to an extent. If somebody is living paycheck to paycheck how could they have saved? There’s many people out here whose money go right to bills and food and then it’s gone

Something is gonna have to give at some point. I understand both sides of the argument. But this thing is literally ruining people’s lives. I know folks who are outta work and unemployment is backed up. I work for the agency that handles unemployment in my state and the system is all fukked up from being overloaded. The agency was already understaffed so we have people volunteering to help remotely from other units. But the site keeps crashing from too much traffic

It’s easy for us who are still collecting a check or already collecting unemployment to preach for everybody to stay home. Staying home is ruining some people’s lives right now. When I got my stimulus check I have some it to people I know who needed money yesterday. It’s a sad situation. I’m really starting to get to the point where I think we just need to slowly open certain things back up with guidelines of course. And if you can afford to stay home stay home. Too bad our government failed us but it’s irrelevant to even think about that at this point
Good human shyt :salute:

I know this the internet, but through posts, you are able to tell who the good mafuccas are, and the folks who really care.

Well we probably would have a social safety net
Iiifffff, the American dollar was worth a shyt and Americans were socialised in to consumerism
Which is why I blamed the Federal reserve, because of them America is in tons of debt and they're constantly inflating our dollars while not even letting us get any but throwing it at corporations so they stay indebted. Honestly it's not even capitalism it's straight up tyranny because they've enslaved us but it's whatever at this point, were just all screwed virus or no virus,

That's why the value of the dollar is so important. If we were still on the gold standard then people wouldn't have to work and earn as much to pay these bills. Those bills are so costly because of inflation in the dollar (because that also forces many buisnesses to increase their prices plus the inflation so they can actually have a profit that hedges against said inflation).
That's why working full-time in the 80's meant much more affordability than now
Why else would we have some cities where a 6 figure salary is like lower middle class, that sounds like a glitche in the matrix

Fear.

If this wasn’t shoved through then you would probably have people trying to break into your home out of desperation.
But what about essential workers who were working through this—I know they had to be scared of getting this... they didn’t really get protections. If they quit they wouldn’t get unemployment, if they stay working some of them made less than those staying home unemployed. That just didn’t seem right to me.

Sadly, now the economy is reopening but a lot of these business are about to sink. People aren’t buying the things they normally would’ve around this time last year. Some are cautious, some don’t want to go out at all still.
my friend texted us that other day saying “y’all let’s go out as soon as this stay at home order is up”. Everyones response?:usure::francis: “Your on your own with that one sis”

I’m talking to coworkers who aren’t going out at all. People are either shook, not shook, or just cautious. Everyone has on masks when they do go out—people are feeling this in different ways.

The new normal will not be anything like the normal we experienced before this took place. It’s just an unfortunate situation either way you cut it. My only hope is that shyt doesn’t get too crazy this summer.

I’m not the president. I have no control over who is deemed essential. I was working for the past two months until I volunteered to furlough. If it was up to me most of these essential businesses wouldn’t be open rn. My life’s been fine with me going to the grocery store and coming back home. Everybody else’s would be too.

You seriously use a lot of word to write about absolutely nothing. You don’t even have a legit idea of a resolution to this other than “open everything up cause I gotta work so everybody else should to.” This is more bitterness on your end. Grow up.

Negged for hoe babble.

Also, instead of going to the grocery store and having potentially hundreds of contacts order four weeks worth of groceries from Instacart. Yes, still a risk of transmission but any interaction is, and if you're infected and asymptomatic you're not going back and forth potentially infecting others including essential workers who have no choice but to be there. Or at least do curbside.

If you're serious about social distancing you will do any and everything to slow the spread, even if it might be inconvenient or against your routine. You don't think people who "only went to the grocery store" have not gotten sick or spread it. Do you part if you're going to talk the talk.

germany slowly opened back up and for not wearing a mask you can receive a fine up to 5,000

i honestly think thats the best way, a mask slows transmission. Keep preaching hand hygiene
this 100%. I seen the unemployment rate and just :francis: if y'all don't wanna see the walking dead happen in real life then the country needs to up. if unemployment rate keeps rising it's going to get bloody.

None of us do though @Deangelo B. so why are we mad at each other all not knowing shyt about this virus?

:mjlol:

I think a good amount of nikkas and bytches on these boardwould just benefit from taking a deep breath and relaxing. Even though it's a rough time, I understand. Getting too much into fear mongering or willful ignorance is not doing any of us favors. We got to stay solid.
