It's okay so far. I'm so-so on the combat though, but it's one of those things where it'll get better as the game progresses when you increases Kiryu's attack speed and heat actions :yeshrug:

I might be in the minority but I thought this was better than Yakuza 0. :ld:

Thing is I get why people can be disappointed. I finished 6 in 40 hours, whereas with 0 I doubled that time. In 0 the only side quest I didnt complete was the Amon fight, whereas in this one I left around 6-8 unfinished, which im mostly assuming is from the cabaret club. That one I thought was a miss, not engaging and took too much effort to even get one chick to gold rank, let alone diamond. With that said though they gave us new shyt like the baseball team and clan creator which was a nice change of pace. Plus all of the substories around town stuck with me like they did with 0. From the drone to the vacuum to the time skip to the etc they were all dope. I liked how a lot of them involved Old man Kiryu dealing with modern technology. And all the cameo appearances from 0 were dope.

They didnt miss a beat with the story. Twists and turns all over the place, not predictable at all. Likable characters all around. All of the enemies were really fleshed out, all of them had legit motivations for their actions, a lot of grey area stuff rather than just good and bad guys.

The presentation was also really stepped up. Some of the best parts were right before you fight a boss. These were always great but this one upped the ante. Kiryu going at them with a lil scripted fight, the splash of their name and the music dropping in hard....:whew:

I truly think this game is a classic and I cannot wait for Kiwami 2

Yeah it feels really weird at first. Really gotta upgrade combo speed and etc. It got a lot smother later on.

Pro tip :smugfavre:.... early on I thought grab into rag doll toss was the best for crowd control, but later on I realized the full running drop kick could straight up take out a whole group of motherfukkers all at once. :pachaha:

And dont forget to get creative in town when you get into fights...the seamless fight transitions means no more invisible walls....which means u can take enemies into stores and microwave them. Kick people down stairs, chuck them off roofs, etc.:lolbron:

That's a good review man. You could definitely feel the power of the PS4 and how well Sega implemented it into Yakuza 6. Story line wise I haven't played a game where I empathized with the characters so much. Especially Haruka. Starting from part 1 all the way back in 05-06 to now I feel like she grew up with me.

In terms of overall rankings I gotta put 6 very high on the list.

1. 2
2. 6
3. 0
4. 4
5. 1
6. 5
7. 3

When Yakuza 6: The Song of Life launched in the United States last month, it did so to much fanfare. Fans had been waiting for some time to finally get their hands on the title, and that excitement translated to sales. According to the latest NPD’s, Yakuza 6 did well enough to slot into the 17th spot on the top 20 list of best-selling games for the month. While that might not seem high to most, that’s actually the best any Yakuza game has done in the Western territories, making Yakuza 6 the most successful Western release the franchise has ever known.

Of course, it’s not too hard to see why the game sold so well. Packed with content and a great story, people were longing for the latest Yakuza entry to hit the West for nearly two years before it finally did. Now that it’s out and selling well, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see future entries in the series sell even more, which fans of the series will no doubt love to see. Sega has yet to divulge the exact sales number for the Western release of Yakuza 6, but even without those, it’s almost certain that the latest entry has made its mark overseas.

If you’re just looking to pick up Yakuza 6: The Song of Life or perhaps are stuck on certain parts of the game, make sure to check out our comprehensive coverage of the game, including how to unlock certain characters, information about the minigames, and a complete guide for all locations and walkthroughs of the game.
