So used games will be blocked (JUST LIKE PHIL HARRISON SAID) unless you pay the "fee" (the "fee" being the price of the game JUST LIKE PHIL HARRISON SAID) to play a used game.

Gamestop is down 2 dollars a share...figures...betta drop that shyt now while you at it.

I applaud MS for having the balls for actually going through with it. But once Publishers see more nikkaz copping DatQuad, they won't be happy (I'm looking at you EA).

My jaw literally dropped when I saw that the activiation fee was the full retail price of the game.

What some of you seem to not understand is that although having to be signed in to play games on your profile is already in effect nowadays, that's for downloaded games.

If for example, I have a DISC game that a friend wants to borrow, I have to basically load up my profile on his system for him to play it most likely AND, I wouldn't be able to be signed into my account from two places at the same time. This is not the same as the first point I mentioned.

you still need to take the game with you though fam. I mean shyt Loosey, it's the least they can do since they are about to put a serious hurting on Gamestop's business. :laff:

I hope the kickbacks from EA were good enough to offset this shyt though. Something tells me it's not.

no the games activation is saved into the cloud once downloaded disc doesn't need to be in the drive.

Loose just give it up breh. jump to the ps4 with the rest of us.
:comeon:

Sony already has online passes

Update - Microsoft's Larry Hryb has issued the following clarification:

Another piece of clarification around playing games at a friend’s house – should you choose to play your game at your friend’s house, there is no fee to play that game while you are signed in to your profile.
What this means is that if you take a game to a friend's house and try to play the game on their system using their account, you'll need to pay. If you take it to their house and try to play it on their system using your account, you won't need to pay.

In other words: playing while you're there is free. If you want to lend it to them for a few days/weeks? They'll have to pay.

:beli: If you take your halo 4 disc and go to someone else's house with it, you don't need to do any profile loading of some sort to play it. THIS new requirement makes it so that you HAVE to load up your profile or else he'll have to buy the game online. This makes me think, wouldn't this negatively effect Gamefly/Redbox?

The two concepts here aren't making sense. They say you wil be able to buy/sell used games at retail. Then how can they charge you full price for a liscense once you get home?

And if I can access my games/account over the cloud, then why would my friend need to install the game on his system?

:mindblown: shyts all confusing. I think this is a case of a suit answering a question he really didn't know the answer to, and the Internet filing in the dots.

Peter molynoux(spelling) said a of this is by design and microsft is creating fukkery on purpose for buzz. He might be right cause now I can't wait for e3

They also said games can be traded/sold at retail. And the GameStop CEO came out saying that both Sony and Microsoft will allow used games. At this point none of this shyt is making sense.

maybe they meant, yeah, you can resell the game but you will have to buy the activation code once you try to play it(for the person that bought it from GameStop, eBay, Amazon, etc).

like how Online Passes worked maybe. if the online code had been used you have to buy the online code. I guess the same practice will be used here.

Well the original "interview" that started the rumors said the fee would be full retail. How could they allow selling/trading games then charge you full retail for activation?
