Well the original "interview" that started the rumors said the fee would be full retail. How could they allow selling/trading games then charge you full retail for activation?
that will be GameStop, etc problem, not theirs:yeshrug:

this will effect those guys more so.

for every one person saying "i don't buy used games" there's another giving this news the :wtf: treatment. they're not doing this for no reason and it's obviously the because rental and used game market is huge. sony has some explaining to do too because as i recall they implemented similar tech in the ps4.

MS lost me with this. I was cool with everything else but having to rebuy a friends game if I want to keep it is absurd.

I would've missed out on the greatness of Fallout 3 if my homie never gave it to me after I told him that I wasn't to sure about the change from FO1/FO2.

"Nah man just play this for a week, you'll be hooked." He said.

Now it's..."Play this for a day or two but I can't have you all in my account like that so hopefully you like it enough to pay for it full price."

So the Major really saying "We know we ain't saying much to put your fears at ease, but here's one small spec of info we can give. The rest of the info might render this irrelevant, tho". :yeshrug:

Can consoles get pushed back like games for repolishing/rethinking? :snoop:

Naw it just doesn't make sense. No one would EVER buy a used game if you had to pay GameStop for the game then to home and pay full retail to activate it.

If that was the case Microsoft just wouldn't allow the ability to buy/sell used games, and the GameStop CEO would not be "excited" about the release of the Xbox one.

No, not just like retail steam.

Considering Steam is 100% Digital downloads, how is this like Steam, when you're buying a physical disc for the Xbox one? Is Xbox Live going to offer new games at $29.99 like Steam as well?
This.

I never lend games out to my friends. At least not in the last 10 years. If my grown ass friend wanna borrow my my game I'll tell him to buy it. Stop with the fake outrage

This is what they don't understand. EA isn't gone to release battlefield on Xbox with a bunch of fees attached then sell it on ps4 with none. Whatever happens with the architecture of the systems, the publishers will push for parity accross platforms. How its implemented might be different but the end game will be the same.

GameStop still sells new games and systems. Of course they would still be excited. Plus that's PR talk, what else were they supposed to say?

but some one that has a poor internet connection could go this route if the game is out of stock. Buying a code that unlocks the used game would be a decent choice compared to not being able to be played at all I guess:yeshrug:.

the price of the used discs at some point will adjust to this. I know when I sell games on eBay I adjust my sell price if I used the online pass.

Maybe they will do like Sony does with their digital games and have them at a slight discount price online.
