:mjlol: Joe was trying to be this hard ass interviewer. Who asks all the hard questions, and doesn’t sugarcoat shyt. But only looked like an idiot. While interviewing Geoff Keighley lol. You can tell Geoff would’ve had slapped bruh. If the cameras weren’t rolling.

shyt like this is why I don't fukk with this clown. fukking idiot really thought he was going to pull up on someone at THEIR event, with a bunch of half formed, unresearched questions, and get a gotcha moment on video. :mjlol:

Asking about MMOs in 2010, as if most new ones weren't shyt back then. Mans said "Where's Final Fantasy 14", as if that wasn't hot fukking garbage when it came out. :mjlol:

From the sounds of it, he'd been popping shyt for a minute about the show and Geoff. Even an idiot would see that this was a setup for a L. Conduct a hostile interview with the opps, and be surprised that they keep the same energy, and were prepared, brehs. :mjlol:

Those E3 days on IGN and SOHH were always fantastic theater. I used to stay home from work to watch that shyt and be in the mix, it was that fun.

Nothing these companies do now with their individual showcases throughout the year matches

Yup same here, me and the homies would have E3 gatherings for Sony and Microsoft shows. Put it up on a projector and eat and drink. Even up until like E3 2019 I'd get wings and kick back and watch the MS show on sunday. Take a long lunch and watch whatever showing on Monday, and tuesday and Wednesdays have the multiple streams up watching events while in group chats and on forums.

It was always a great week for gaming.

Man even when I was working at GS aka babbage's way back in the day and they use to fly out the top performing GM's/SM to E3 it was :banderas: Even if we didn't go they'd come back with camcorder game footage and interviews. A ton of SWAG and all kinda random stuff.

RIP E3

But hey we got nintendo directs, state of plays and developer diaries now...:francis:

And of course a huge AD that is the TGA.

Once Sony stopped showing up E3 was over. Why should game companies spend all this money on this giant spectacle when YouTube and social media have more reach? We can spend millions on an E3 presence on the floor and renting a theater for a pre-show or we can post a YouTube video. Which is the better return on investment? Nintendo started E3 down that path and Sony / COVID finished it off.

its not even that its the fact that they stayed press media only at its peak is crazy. They could have turned it into a con like space over time and probably made more money than they ever did in its heyday.
