No shyt bruh, just talking the principle of bringing that element to a video game console.. :beli:

The essence of WEBtv is that it is an Internet service. There is no need for Microsoft to lock out other services and alienate customers to provide this service because by nature it is "always connected" regardless of what other functions the hardware has.

Xbox just lost alot of respect from the gaming community. Sad, they used the loyalty of their customer base this way. Hopefully these rumors are not true.

Of course there is no "need" but if these leaks are true, then it's pretty obvious they are doing this to block used games using an online DRM system.

Again, I hope they aren't dumb, but these corporations are on some other shyt sometimes.

It's well documented that drm requirements will be set by publishers. This issue has nothing to do with Durango being "always on"

The leaks aren't talking about publishers doing it....it's the CONSOLE itself, not publisher choice. Of course, if the EA/MS partnership is true with exclusive content, then we know who is the ringleader of this shyt. nikkaz aint learn yet from their Simcity and Diable 3 debacle.s

There are leaks talking about the publishers doing it.

Sony already left the door open and is giving support for publishers to make that decision.

The biggest games from the biggest publishers are already rumored to have drm requirements. There will never be a game that has drm requirements on one system and not the other.

Think about it logically. Even if it is done on the hardware level on durango. Do you think ubisoft is going to release Assassins creed on ps4 without drm?

Again this is totally a publisher friendly concept. If Microsoft is doing it, it's due to pressure from publishers. If Sony is leaving the decision "up to the publishers" and providing them the tools to do it. Then they will do it.

The only devs I could see not requiring drm, are indies. And most of their games are download only anyway.

EA worst case will do the same online pass for the PS4 as they did for the PS3, only this time it will lock out single player as well. And just like now you can buy the online pass if you buy used games. This will probably be the norm next gen, particularly on the PS4. So we're good on our end. :win:

If Sony was against it. They would say so and block it from their consoles. But they will do as usual and lie to consumers while supporting and strengthening it from the behind the scenes, while hiding behind the "it's the publishers decision" angle. Multiplatform games will have parity they will function essentially the same on both consoles. If this means online passes then that will hold true for both systems.

If you have not noticed the entire industry has been in cahoots for a long time. With rising development costs, everybody benefits from similarity. You think it's just a coincidence that both systems will have essentially the same architecture? And that that architecture is basically the same as a PC?

Why doesn't M$FT just come out and clear all this up. They know what the streets are talking about, what take much to have an official employee come out and clear this issue up. It wouldn't ruin their big reveal.

So telling the truth in the case that they will leave it up to publishers is leading consumers on? When in fact they're telling you the truth? :leostare:

It's no different from what they're doing today....they won't block used games, but if publshers want to use an online pass, it's up to them. Sony even uses online passes, but it's only for multiplayer since they do use dedicated servers for the games that have it.

yall nikkaz, I swear....
