The D (where it's so cold)
have to be connected to start up a game = no offline option. you could still have it on, but you won't be able to play games with no internet connection.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up, I knew it had little to nothing to do with the console powered on/off. I can't see how this isn't going to be disastrous with every info leak my impressions on the 720 gets worse and worse.

Don't believe this crap. It's just a rumor that Sony fanboys are promoting. The only official info from Microsoft makes no mention of needing a connection to play games.

And what have you heard that makes it "worse and worse"

they haven't even announced yet and they don't comment on "rumors" - typical corporate speak. :ld:

all the leaks we are getting have been from published MS documentation that got out and devs sliding info to major gaming sites under the table. If it was so bad, why haven't they asked Eurogamer, Edge, etc. to pull the information? You also had that loud mouthed clown last week from MS who shat on everyone. And Paul Thurrott that MS insider who has been doing his thing for YEARS dropping the info like it was nothing major.

You in hard denial bruh, but it's okay.

Keep :cape:

Always online requirement
No backwards compatibility
No used games

Granted, nothing has been officially announced but there's no one claiming the opposite. If anything all these MS employees are pretty much confirming the negative rumors.

Ps4 is always online, not backwards compatable, and "no used games" will be decided by the publishers.

Don't tell Meachy Poo that. He's in hard denial. Just like you can see yourself the bullshyt that is out there. MS can easily put an end to all this shyt, but they choosing to keep quiet. All those old corporate heads don't understand the game nowadays. Word spreads too fast nowadays in this age. Dunno why they just can't denounce this shyt. They act like people aint snitching and dropping dimes left and right nowadays.

Every single legit gaming website has reported this and Microsoft came back with the infamous we have no comment answer when asked about it. There is no doubt in anyone's mind that this is where Microsoft is headed, they are taking a big gamble on this in order to prevent piracy to lure more exclusives. This is nothing but greed at it's finest. Good ol' MS will now come out and say that they are only doing this in order to enhance the console's social media aspect and that it won't be the same.

Right now there must be constant meetings in Seattle to find how will they be able to announce this feature without backlash. I doubt they will find viable solutions. As someone whos job is to predict if a future product will succeed or fail I can't see a scenario where the 720 will succeed as a console.

Paul Thurrott said that there won't be a requirment to start games, and that used games will be allowed.

Microsoft immediately disowned that loud mouthed clown.

And the only Microsoft documentation that everybody has and that started all the rumors is the one I posted. Nothing there even implies that a connection will be "required"

Sony gave them a HUGE softball last gen with a 600 dollar console. It's not happening twice. Get those old corporate heads out of the gaming division up there in Redmond. This isn't the same game.

No they haven't. Game websites took the document that says "always on, always connected" and spinned that into "connection required to play games"

If you look at the tech world most devices these days are being promoted as "always on, always connected" Hell the ps3 was promoted with that exact same phrase. None of those devices just stop working without a connection so why would the durango be any different?

Why would they comment on something that doesn't exist?

Leaks talked about no used games and online requirments for years leading up to the ps4 but they still dropped when they were ready. None of these companies react to rumors. Especially about products that don't even exist.

The only reason these rumors are so prevelant now is because they do numbers. Anybody can write a "durango always online" story and get plenty of traffic to their website.
