Our generation wanted a true Cyclops, Jean Gray, Rogue, Beast, Jubilee, Storm and etc

They just don't get it.

All the executives need to do is swallow their pride, give the heroes some actual costumes, hire some writers and directors who actually read the Chris Claremont comics, and stop shafting every other character in a desperate attempt to market Jennifer Lawrence.

And let some other villains shine besides Magneto.

The Dark Phoenix Saga is goatworthy, and I'll be crushed if they drop the ball on that storyline twice.
