Twice now Asuka has received a "new" title belt, first in NXT, the old bodily fluid covered (Thanks Paige...) NXT Women's title to the current design for the NXT Women's title and now the Raw Women's title into the WWE Women's title.

The belt design as a men’s world title is too ingrained in pop culture to change it now, it’s easily recognizable with how they send it out to sports teams who win the championship.

No idea why they keep it for the women’s straps though. They should change it up for them.
There's even a picture of Titus O Neil with Denzel and Magic Johnson holding the current WWE Title

I’m confused. Why did Asuka get handed a title that’s called undisputed women’s champion? Rhea is a champion and apparently chuck challenged Asuka for the Raw woman’s championship :mindblown:
Just ignore that it has "Undisputed" on the physical title. They won't be calling it that. It will be called the "WWE Women's Championship." My guess is they only put that on the physical title because they wanted it to mirror Roman's title. There was no reason to but they still did it.

Remember the WWE Title still has/had "World Heavyweight Champion" on the physical belt but that was dropped in the actual name of the title once they introduced the Universal title, yet they just never decided to remove it. So this seems par for the course. In the end as a fan don't even pay any attention to it.

Put that on Cena with his spinner style belts. Once Vince saw the potential for sales it was no going back. Too late tho people buy them up all the time.

The new gold backed titles do look better in real lighting than they do in any digital format.

This article says more than any of us ever could. Somebody's smoking crack in Stamford these days.

All this does is make me wonder why there are two women's titles to begin with. Making them brand exclusive at least has a purpose, but if that's not the case anymore, those titles are going to be treated way worse than the men's. If they wanted to do title vs. title at WrestleMania, they picked the wrong division to do it in.

That guy wrote an article before they were finished telling the story. I mean he even mentions it at the end. Maybe he should have waited to publish it after Raw?

Btw Asuka's title just retains the Raw Women's title lineage which started as the WWE Women's title in the first place in 2016, replacing the Diva's title, the title Chuck won in that Sasha/Becky/Chuck Triple Threat at WM 32.

If we just let it play out I'm sure Rhea's will carry the SD Women's title history when it's renamed. Fans need patience these days, like it used to be before the internet and Twitter just sped things up way too much.

In they end WWE clearly wants 1 men's top singles title on each show and 1 women's top singles title on each show and they want them to be presented as equals, hence why they will look the same other than the white leather strap for the women, which is meant to represent that division.

As far as Roman's lineages we just have to wait and see when he loses, that's going to be telling factor on what they do with it then. They clearly don't want to kill his 1000+ day reign over a new title presentation. So for right now it's two lineages represented by one title.

It's not as confusing as people make it out to be.
