Good not great album imo

Lyrics were on another level on wu forever but I dig the beats and songs 36 chambers much more

Because of the flood rza changed the wu sound and while it wasn't bad it wasn't near the level of the origunal wu sound

Don't think it was a coincidence that just about every wu album with the vintage wu sound was a classic. With the new sound they became a lot more inconsistent

Music just wasn't overall as good. Lacked that soulful rawness imo

This is a classic album. Not good. Not great. Classic. Masterpiece.

You digging the 36 Chambers beats doesn't detract from how well produced this was. How cohesive the project was. How much of a step up every member took in terms of songwriting and technicality.

That's fine but I didn't dig the overall sound as much aside from a few tracks

Yep so your grievances are PERSONAL, which is perfectly alright and actually your opinion mirrors what a lot of hardcore Wu-Tang fans felt initially when the album dropped, because it didn't sound raw and gritty and low-fi like 36 Chambers did.

But over time people have come to see it as a superior effort in every way, and while it isn't wrong to prefer 36 Chambers (I do overall), Wu-Tang Forever is an upgrade in every way. It's a mature Wu-Tang album with every member in the peak of their lyrical and stylistic abilities.

Top 5 songs from this album imo...

For Heavens Sake
A Better Tomorrow
Triumph
Bells of War
Heaterz

HM: Impossible

Hurts to leave Impossible out since it includes a T5 Ghost verse of all time but I went with Heaterz

my favorite Wu-Tang album. two discs full of music made at the Wu Mansion out in Jersey while they were doing all types of drugs and RZA's production style was evolving. Classic.
