What Divine said about buying property was game. Breh was buying property every time he got a cheque. They should have been asking Divine for investment advice instead of beefing with him. Him and Power were both money minded from the jump... the 2 main investors and they came in with bags they weren't petty hustlers. Dudes like that just got a different type of drive.

I read Slick Rick invested in property early before he got locked up and he does those old head tours. Dudes like that were thinking ahead.

Rza did not do him dirty. He was paid for his services. That's work for hire. Artists under Marvel don't get rights to the work they create while under contract. Math seemed like he didn't give a fukk in all the interviews I seen with him. He probably started to think about it more since people keep bringing it up.

John Witherspoon said on a VladTV interview that he was paid $5000 to do the original Friday. The one point he made I never forgot was that after the movie blew up and made all those millions it’s not like New Line Cinema turned around and said “hey you know what here’s a few more dollars since we made so much money”. It don’t work like that but yet somehow with the Wu everybody think it should. That’s the downside to doing business with family, because if it was a white label owner every last one of them would have been stuck in their original contracts.

I don't think being savvy has anything to do with the logo situation. Let's say Math had the foresight and told Rza/Power he wanted royalties if it blew up. They could have turned him down and asked someone else.

Its the same thing Graphic Designers do every day, design logos for different companies and work on commission. They dont get paid royalties if the company blows up down the line. They get paid for time and work, that's it. Same thing with Math.

I love Wu so most of the info wasn't new. I just loved the footage. I thought the whole thing was done well. The pacing. The episodes. What they covered was cool. You can tell it was done by someone who doing it correctly.

91 to like mid 97 was my favorite era. It was dope to see the clothes. That was my favorite part. Rae and Ghost were definitely closest to how I close my eyes and remember that era. Not all the video silk shirts but all the lo and tommy etc. The fits, the colors, the hats, the shoes.

The studio footage was incredible. All of them are incredible to me. In their primes, nothing was better than a little Wu playing. Some weed in the air chilling with friends and having a good time.

That’s the thing ... and you’re really hitting on it ... outside of RZA , Divine and Power ... the rest expected to be empowered constantly (even to the financial demise of those 3) not understanding that despite it all , that trifecta approached shyt as a business despite the history they had . And that trifecta had to eat and wasn’t trying to take too many Ls in the name of empowering the other “ignorant” members (I don’t say that pejoratively either but they were ignorant )

It’s a lot we don’t know but for the first time i’ll say this doc exposed a lot of the members’ fundamental lack of understanding regarding business .

That’s the thing with business vs. personal ... it woulda been friendly and nice for RZA — after the shyt blew — to compensate Math more ... but business wise he couldn’t and shouldn’t do that because it opens the door for so much legal bullshyt ... tough call but any lawyer would advise to leave that shyt in the past .

First, I don't know how close he is to Math. So now he would have to split that 4 ways? How do you think Wu Management gets paid? Power and Divine can't tour like everbody else.
