Cappadonna had gotten that 'guest star' billing on the Ironman album, and associated with Rae and Ghost, and had been on a hit song, so all that probably secured his solo deal and the expectation for him to deliver an album.

Agreed. Everyone wasn't gonna be a star. U-God was the weakest rapper in the group. I think he def leveled up on the second Wu album and dropped multiple dope verses but it wasn't like he was gonna become a star.

Masta is dope to me but his rhyme style wasn't as marketable. Cappa made sense to go next, given how great he was on Ironman.

Feels like the Ghost shyt was too short and the Bust shyt was too long. Spliff was slightly better than Rza. But I'll give the edge to Ghost.

Complete shame how stubborn he is with that. He and an intern could put that in a proper storage and digitalize it in about 3 or 4 months and make MILLIONS licensing out the footage. Instead he's gonna risk losing it or dying before he can reap the benefits.

No disrespect to U..but noone was checking for a fukking U-God CD..the worst thing that could have happen to cats like U and Masta Killa was Winter Warz....that one verse and to a lesser extent Ice Cream-opened demand for more Cappa music. RZA had no choice but to leapfrog Cappa over them cats

Now if he doesn't have the last 15 or so years digitized, he's just foolish. The old stuff roughly pre 2000 is where the money is.

It can be a chore but I do it with my VHS tapes and Ralph should have it 100x easier being that he has each tape in a case and has the player right there. Knockout 12 hrs a day and he'll be good. But the longer he waits, the tougher it gets and the foggier his memory of whats on each tape.

Right, and U-God was probably the LEAST anticipated to drop a solo... so what do you do when there's a member whose name was buzzing and did buildup some anticipation... you put a guy who's not on the same radar out first? Hell nah. If Cappa had some shyt ready to go in '98, that's when it shoulda dropped.
