I don't really see it as him getting shine tho'... if anything, they told his story to set up the story about that album, which everyone then shytted on and exposed how it was put together. If anything, he was cast as an outside guy who RZA's cool with and put together a bogus project. If they left out who he was, it would've left people wondering "who the fk is he and how did he get to make that shyt?" He ended up as the villain of the whole thing IMO, rightfully.

I thought he did his thing on the mic. I never listened to him before. But that's neither here nor there.

I saw this doc as more of them burying the past problems.. I thought i heard RZA say he gave them all their publishing...
so I say this doc as look at us now look at all we been through together but I still love you... as a token of that love... you have ALL you stuff .. let's grow old and be men..

to those who want the true behind the scenes stuff .. that's gonna be the HULU show. this was like a life reflection while you still alive and not at your funeral.

crazy Ghost started to cry thinking about how he wish he took his brothers outside.
and the ODB stuff made me cry.. sad.. he loved them and was truly hurt...

ghost and rae looked like complete fools arguing with divine about taking cuts
"nah i want the whole mil":dead:

kinda feel bad for divine, they shytted on him.
thats what happens when you say that "we family shyt
lines get blurred, and people expect you to do things for them for free

I been saying it for years everytime dudes on here be trying to shyt on RZA. These Wu dudes seem TOTALLY unreasonable when it comes to the business end of things when dealing with RZA and Vine. Vine brokers deals for them and they want ALLLL the money. RZA goes in the studio and produces and mixes tracks, brokers deals for them and takes time out of his obviously busy schedule and they want ALLLL the money. They don't seem to want RZA and Vine to get the cut they deserve. They don't expect that shyt from NO other producers and managers they deal with. shyt is crazy.

It's way deeper than that. One issue, clan members felt RZA was setting up his siblings and the members were not allowed to have their fam members as managers or work with wu productions.

This documentary doesnt cover the real issues at all. Sadly, there is a huge divide in the "brotherhood" this shyt is all for the cameras. They do love one another but have outgrown having to be around one another.

Wu will always be the greatest group to me.

Put it this way, there are some family members that dont like Divine. It's way deeper than rap.

Oh I'm sure there's definitely more to it than meets the eye, but it's still crazy to me that they would feel that they deserve all the profits for deals that RZA and Vine brokered for them and they agreed to. Ghost sued RZA one time because RZA took his fee for producing for Ghost...the industry standard cut producers get for producing for an artist.

Yup. Doing business with any wu member is very difficult. They arent the best at deals but Rae caught on and made some good money after 2008. Rest still dont return calls or the "managers" ask for ridiculous prices that you won't make a counter offer

Ghost manager asked me for 10k for a verse for his own son hahahaha. It was ridiculous. Then the son had to talk to his pops and he did it for free. Just the hassle man

Look at it like this: how crazy is it that RZA let them out of their contracts for nothing? With no force, no litigation...nothing. Which one of his contemporary, or otherwise, label heads is doing that? Puffy? Russell Simmons? Suge? Baby? Most of the Wu were platinum and gold selling artists! shyt is wild if you think about it. And they know it also. That's why they continue to work with RZA til this day. When Charlamagne asked Raekwon on his last Breakfast Club interview if RZA ever robbed him...even though at that point Rae and RZA relationship publicly looked as bad as it ever did...Rae adamantly said "NO".

The I in Team
Finished the 1st 3 episodes. So far it has been a nostalgia journey from my teenage years. The whole Dirty situation was just flat out sad, felt sorry for him when he got out of jail. My favorite part was the freestyle with Rae, U-God and Deck. They all finished it but Deck was a damn beast even back then. U-God was dope as hell also. Did not know Ghost was the one who sabotage the tour tho. They was never the same after that

The rhymes I design hit the ground like the hammer of THOR
Rip the FLOOR like a circular saw

Deck don’t get enough props man I swear.

This doc is a good look towards the wu legacy cause they like 1 of ... 5 rap artists that would get a doc like this. But its just scratching surface. Wu tang is not just another rap group and it dont really go into why that is or study any of the music at all.
