I blame the fact that some people shyt on the young talented people like Cole and Kendrick as being "boring" and "lame" but the want something like 2 Chainz to keep us immature. Not to help, but you got older dudes chasing bullshyt music to keep up with trends, which is sickening.

Groups don't exist anymore because people too selfish and arrogant to work together. Especially R&B, where people think that slow music is boring and lame and for old people.
But they are boring and lame

The 2000s are infinitely better than the 90s. It's just nostalgia speaking for you guys. I'm pretty sure when I'm old and flabby I'll be whining about how the 2020s and 2030s sucked and the 00s and 10s were better too. :ehh:

It's always gotta be one nikka tryin' real real hard...

But there is some shyt that's kinda like :rudy: in hindsight. I can't reminisce on Kenan & Kel or Homeboys In Outer Space... that's when shyt started gettin' kinda cheeseball. Still, the 2000s is when we pretty much got phased out on TV. People don't realize just how de-emphasized our presence has been on TV, when compared to the 90s or even the 80s for that matter.

I just read Questlove's book about Soul Train, and the company reveals at the end of the book that they are relaunching the show. But I can't even be that hype about it cause to me, ST died off in the 90s. As heavy into hip-hop as I was, I really feel like when hip-hop overflowed the show, it took the Soul Train feel out of it... it prob woulda been smarter for Don to create a separate, younger show that was strictly hip-hop and kept Soul Train tied to the R&B. I can't see how a show like that could rock these days, but it'd be interesting to see if it could.

Look at y'all... Y'all probably was the same ones clowning UPN and The WB back in the day and now y'all want it back. Most them shows was wack aside from a few elite ones like Martin, Fresh Prince, Sister Sister, Waynes Bros, Kenan & Kel, and Smart Guy was on the verge.

Black shows were dropped because the networks gotten a rep from white america thinking that "Its one of them networks with those people on it :leostare:"

I'm not the least bit upset over the crap on these past two decades (2000's and 2010's) :manny:

I gave up on sitcoms really around 2001...but I think I officially gave up on just about everything except sports and the History channel, when Malcolm in the Middle went off in 2006, and the King of Queens went off the air in 2007. I don't remember exactly, but...I haven't recovered since the Writers strike. It was that year when shyt just got horride and everything seemed to switch over to reality TV.

Nowadays I either Netflix all the old stuff or I've bought the entire series of shows that I use to watch. Heck I just finished watching the entire series of the Wonder Years, Frasier, and Cheers...:manny: and I'm happy...

My entire DVD collection is something ridiculous now...I have all of the seasons of things like Martin, Married with CHildren, X Files, Sanford and Son What's Happening, All in the Family, The Jeffersons etc etc..I think I paid no more than 40 bucks for each series...my parents think I'm crazy outdated, but hey, they keep me happy as well...

Overall, It works for me....:manny: I watch them how often as I want and when I want.

Oh and BTW...I think black sitcoms fell off sometime around the late 90s...like someone said--you'll never have another era of the Cosby Show, A Different World, Martin, and Living SIngle those days are over...it is what it is man...

But some of yall are naming those crap WB sitcoms :scusthov: the writing and acting in alot of those was pure garbage (minus The Waynes Bros Show...that was actually pretty hilarious)

I blame the fact that our format started to get stale with white America and they moved on to reality TV

HELL NO.

and i liked "family matters" but its one of those shows that some people tend to overrate due to childhood nostalgia.

the show got wack and stupid after the 1st few seasons. and as good as the early seasons were, they shouldnt be anywhere near a goat discussion.

i understand that people dont like tyler perry, but "house of payne" was clearly a better show imo.......and it doesnt belong anywhere near a goat discussion either, for the record.
Slow the fukk down my friend. I wouldnt put it amingst fresh prince cosby's etc but you're going too hard.

FROM FIFTH SEASON

104 8 "Dr. Urkel and Mr. Cool" John Tracy Jim Geoghan November 12, 1993[116] 455359
After Laura gets fed up with Urkel's mischievous behavior, she tells him that he needs to change. So Urkel devises the ultimate scheme to win her heart...a potion called "cool genes" that will make him cool. Steve drinks the potion and becomes Stefan Urquelle, an ultra-suave, good-looking ladies man, and quickly wins Laura's heart and becomes popular with other girls as well. However, it isn't long before Laura's fed up with his arrogant narcissistic nature and rather have the irksome nerd back.

Note: This is the first appearance of Urkel's alter-ego, Stefan Urquelle, played by Jaleel White in a dual role.

111 15 "Good Cop, Bad Cop" Richard Correll Sara V. Finney & Vida Spears January 21, 1994[123] 455366
Carl has warned Eddie about his late-night carousing before. So when Eddie is pulled over for a traffic violation, he says he was the victim of racial profiling by a pair of overzealous police. Carl refuses to accept his son's story of how he was "a black in a white person's neighborhood", and a huge argument ensues. But then Carl sees the two officers at a coffee shop and decides to get their side of the story. What he finds out is the ugly truth (it's all like Eddie explained) when the senior officer is revealed to be a severe racist. An angry Carl threatens to report the senior officer for his racial profiling, while also urging his rookie partner to re-examine his own attitude. Meanwhile, Urkel gets more than he bargained for when he takes a worried Richie to the dentist.

sEASON 6

135 15 "The Gun" John Tracy Joseph Cvar & Gary Menteer February 10, 1995[145] 456214

In one of the series' most serious episodes, gang member Toni Procopio (Tracey Cherelle Jones) and her friends brutally beat Laura up over her jacket. After being arrested and let out on bail, Toni and her gang tell Laura that she can expect to get shot if she testifies against them again. Laura, scared for her life, decides she needs to buy a gun for self-defense, even though Urkel begs her to reconsider. But then, just moments before Laura can go through with the gun purchase, Toni shoots her other best friend Josie (Trina McGee-Davis) because she refused to give Toni her shoes. Fortunately, the Winslows and Steve start "Save a Life, Turn In Your Gun" and Steve does a rap about saving your life by turning in a gun or other weapons.

These Hollywood execs are eating like never before with technology making costs cheaper and the prices the same or even more. I've noticed that straight to DVDs has all the *other* films that Hollywood no longer wants to distribute.

yup. unless your name is deniro, leonardo, denzel or hanks the budget for your films will be cheaper than straight to dvd films.

Wesley Snipes was making a killing with straight to dvd movies before he went to jail.

Plus when was the last time u saw a all black cast, latino cast on NBC, ABC AND FOX with there own show?? blacks and latinos are force to go to tbs or the cw and have small ass budgets where the show is just film in 2 rooms :snoop: like the dining room or the workplace
