This needs context. Kai is famous but he was also giving out Free PS5s and gift cards of money
Not really. He's on to something. "Reality" content and TV is actually in a prime position right now. Sports and reality stuff isn't going away and cannot be replaced with artificial alternatives. Zaslav got a ton of shyt for the HBO and Discovery content merge, but fast forward to now... maybe he saw this coming to a head. Scripted content is expensive and in a lot of cases bloated. This will be very interesting to see how companies value influencers, reality TV and actors moving forward

No he doesn't. A riot jumped off because thousands of teenagers showed up for a free PS5. What does that have to do with the strike?

Reality TV is not going to replace TV shows and films and the desire for them. And are you caping for someone like Zaslav?:russ:

You missed the point. Reality content is cheap to produce and it's consumed not just on TV platforms, but also on our phones.

I was speaking on value. At the end of the day, that is what this strike is about. Negotiating around value. I mentioned Zaslav because his portfolio is strong in a content area that doesn't need a writers room or actors... which could bold well for him and his stakeholders throughout this strike and maybe beyond it.

300 an episode makes no sense :picard: the residual game is disgusting compared to actual shooting day wages

If you have a speaking role you automatically get bumped up to like $968 dollars per DAY on set, MINIMUM! And that's just if you're a regular background person and the director decides to give you a line, like for example a bartender asking the main actors what they want to drink. Main acts make way more

a non speaking background actor usually starts around 150-200 per day and gets increased if they have to do shyt like drive, smoke fake cigarettes, etc. So it's a pretty good bump up.

An episode for a hour long show takes 2 weeks (10 days) to film, so do the math, you made 10 grand filming it if you there everyday. But the episode come out and you only getting 3hunna for the whole thing :wtf:

Good, they’ve been getting fukked over forever

Multiple VFX studios have had to shut down after landing AAA blockbuster work, which should be a win

Their working conditions are horrible and they get held to ransom by Disney and Marvel

It's wild

They get paid very little to do a lot of work very quickly

Then they get threatened with being blacklisted if they work on other projects from other studios that are offering to pay them properly

So because there are more Disney/Marvel movies than anything else, they have to turn down well paying work in a fair amount of time

Then they end up going out of business or losing staff

They should 100% be a union

If outside VFX studios follow suit, it's going to be major

I'm guessing margot robbie and ryan gosling could use the same defense, cuz they been promoting heavy as hell since the strike kicked off.
A lot of that stuff was pre taped and old interviews.

Remember how shows like Access Hollywood and ET would get exclusive from sets? They do these things a year ahead of time while filming then release it in the weeks before to build hype.

plus a lot of social media is run by social media teams. Margot Robbie doesn’t always post to her channels. She just films it based on what her social media teams wants and they release it.

late night tv shows( which are shut down) and red carpets/ special events are usually the only hype actors do near release.
