No, no it's not. You need to travel, and not spew half truths and lies some anonymous person on an internet forum told you. Legally, "Black" is written into the census data of Britain, Canada, Jamaica, Barbados, almost every African country etc. to denote a person of sub-Saharan African descent.
Thats cool.

But what about in AUSTRALIA the country of which the people we are speaking of are from?

They call ABORIGINALS BLACK!! So how are YOU gonna meet one and tell him/her that they are NOT black just because YOUR definition in the place YOU grew up in is DIFFERENT than the definition in the place THEY grew up in and have been IDENTIFIED and MISTREATED as such by white people?

It's the same in Fiji, Christmas Islands, New Caladonia, parts of India, parts of Asia ect........

The world is bigger than OUR VIEWS, And I hate when AA's or any other black people of the western world try define what is black WORLDWIDE...

I said in my initial post that they can call themselves whatever they want. I'm just saying they're not "black" in the same sense that we are (African heritage):

No, not in the sense that we (Africans) are black. Heritage>>>> appearance - there are Sub Saharan African descended people that don't even have black skin (albinos). They're not related to us.

That being said, it's all semantics, and they can call themselves "black", like how both Filipinos and East Indians say they're "brown" despite a completely different heritage.

i had a few good conversations with two different Australians I meet recently on this.:ohhh:

In a nutshell, Blacks in Australia dont consider them Black or African. Theyre seen as Native or Indian. So it depends if you consider Native Americans or Indians from india as "Black":manny:.

Funny thing is, Austrailan government currently treats them worse than Blacks were ever treated in USA, apart from slavery i guess...... so maybe they are Black :mjlol:

Theres also a good movie on this for all you brehs to check out if you want more insight on the topic.

I understand that difference.

I just don't like how we try and tell other people what they are not due to a narrow worldview, when they are getting treated like shyt where they are from for being Black.

I know Negrito girls from Asia who got treated like shyt by other Asians ( basically being called a version of Nikka and not seen as dateable by other groups)

I feel like when we do that It shows arrogance and privilege on Afrikan American's part.

I remember an old video of an Aboriginal who was a civil rights activist. He wanted the N-word wiped off public buildings, even including a big sports stadium. White Australians threatened this Aboriginal's life with the arrogance of, "Why does this black guy care if we put the N-word up on buildings? He ought to like it?" If I remember right, one building just took the N-word off in the mid to late 2000s. So the racism was extremely open towards the "black Australian Aboriginals."

I live among them and there is nothing traditionally black about them. I've actually being called black feller by them. Mind you a good percentage of them believe the white man is their friend. :comeon:

At the beginning of mean streets
Black is anyone who has African ancestry either directly or through the new world. I'm not gonna lie though, the term black is more often associated with black Americans of slave descent. If a black American were to say they're American, they'd be looked at weird. You always gotta add black and we all know why that is. As for other blacks, they're immigrants and have direct ties to their nations since they chose to come here so they are more quick to say their nationality as opposed to just black. They speak a different language, have close ties to their cultures, and keep their customs. Those who consider themselves black whether it's negro or black, are usually New World blacks in my experience. Being from NYC, I was exposed to many different cultures and even the Latinos I grew up around early on called themselves black Latino or Afrolatino. For my mother who is Ethiopian, the term was Habesha though I'm not exactly sure if that means black or not.

Some of them where, there are some cool dudes among them that are very pro black and know their heritage. But a large number of them don't want to hear that shyt and are contempt with the way things are. They are quick to defend white Australia against immigrants and outsiders.

I'm with you. It's all semantics in the end. "Black" obviously has a different meaning in that part of the world, and that's fair. In Europe, Africa and the Americas it means sub-Saharan African descended (which honestly they are not).
