I'd say that WWII was Extinction Level Event and was damn near determined to wipe out as much of humanity as possible. American slavery was economic exploitation that morphed into endless racial oppression, but WWII was on some humanity reset where economics took a backseat to mass human death.

Quite a few of ancient wars usually were followed by systematic ethnic cleansing. The Romans had systematic genocides of tribes, particularly in the northern provinces. The only goal was to kil every single member of the tribes on-site and they often were successful. I can't recall the name of any of the particular groups off-hand. I'll have to go look it up.

Not all were killed or sold into slavery as according to modern historians. They were a considerable amount of Celtic survivors in Gaul who intermarried with Italian settlers. The decendants of this "mixed ethnicity" along with some later admixture with German barbarians and Vikings became the modern day French people.

Yeah, especially when thr worlds population exploded post WWII and it expanded 4x in just 75 years. The history of humanity, the population never exploded on that magnitude, with historically low infant mortality rates. Plus the amount of wars/ conflicts fought since WWII shrank by considerable amounts.
