The people crossing the border to get here are part of the problem:pachaha: The middle class is crumbling but that's not to say America still doesn't have inherent value, especially to someone from a 3rd world country. But part of the reason these employers don't wanna pay nikkas is because they have hordes of immigrants that'll do the work for pennies on the dollar

I'll take your word for it on the construction trades availability, and I've heard the same thing from friends of mine. My point still stands even in consideration of yours because construction is still one sector among hundreds. I also wonder how much of that is knowledge based. How many nikkas know about the availability of those jobs? Not asking you personally but I am curious

I'm actually disgusted at the idea of UBI:russ: I think if you have a healthy amount of jobs that pay a livable wage , UBI is unnecessary, but nikkas don't wanna pay while prices keep rising so :manny:

-If a grown man doesn't know about job availability within different sectors, what exactly is he doing all day?

-It's up to people to demand higher pay. Do they look at the listed salary range? What salary do they ask for? Do they negotiate salary? If current job isn't paying enough, what is stopping them from searching elsewhere for higher pay?

-If rent is too high what's stopping people from getting a roommate? What's stopping couples from moving in together?

Some people start off poor and end up doing good later down the line, what is stopping others?

Right but again the effectiveness of the middle class was that it curtailed the need to "get there early" . There was a system in place for the average (even below) American to live a relatively comfortable life, now you have millions of people in your bacteria scenario

With these systems crumbling you have more and more people trying to make a way however they can, looking for any exploit or open spot that they can eat off of before other nikkas find out, flood it, and run the well dry. That's manageable on micro levels but it's become the macro and it's clearly unsustainable. Like I said in my last post this country ain't built for millions of nikkas to get it out the mud.

The purpose of the middle class was to remove that scarcity mindset and foster comfortableness in the availability of meaningful employment. Now you got nikkas working 2 jobs just to break even, IT nikkas sleeping in cars unbeknownst to their coworkers, nikkas scamming etc
I wouldn't say that. You have to remember the thriving middle class is what allowed a man to securely provide a house, food and amenities for a wife and child by 25. Definitely by 30. The middle class system set benchmarks of people "getting there early" and the rhetoric around Millennial and Zoomers having their American Dream threatened or erased is based on not getting at an appropriate time or ever.

They'll struggle the rest of their life.

I'm genuinely curious what these people do day in and day out where they can't escape poverty. What are they doing?
You obviously didn’t read the article before you bothered responding or you would have answered your own question.

A lot of people in this thread obviously didn’t read the article before they bothered responding with their comments.

I'm almost at the conclusion that a lot of people need their hands held throughout life. Some Communism needs to be thrown in. This current free will system don't work because people lack the knowledge or will power to do anything

-Guidance through highschool and choosing a career
-Guidance through College, Tradeschool, IT, or Military
-Guidance on not flexing and clout chasing spending money on credit cards, expensive cars, or vacations.

It's almost like the average person is either a dumbass or hard headed.

Pay wall. Can't read article.

You can be angry at my posts, but what are people doing to change their situation?
Again if you read the article then you would answer your own question. The people in the article are literally trying the best they can with the circumstances that they've been giving, but life has thrown them multiple curveballs to the point it's hard to get back on their feet.

It's funny that you're in here asking what those people are doing to change their situation, when I could be asking you that same question in the case of this article as you can actually read it for yourself if you're willing to do the research to find out how to. A bit funny don't you think?

I'm going to do you solid and help you out:
